Disgusting. My high school best friend lived in Highlands Ranch for a few years, up until a couple years ago.

The color of the shooters will determine if Drumpf says anything.

These kids weren’t shot. They won’t become part of the grim statistics of gun murders. But the trauma from what they saw yesterday won’t go away. EVER. And we need to start understanding the damage we are doing to the entire mass shooting generation.

This aspect of gun violence as a whole does not get nearly enough attention.

STEM School sits about five miles from Columbine HS. I work a couple miles from Columbine, and drive past STEM every day on my way to and from work. This, for me, hits very close to home.

There is a Sheriff's sub-station just a mile from the STEM School. The response time was under two minutes from the 911 call to officers on the scene. They took an 18-year old male (reportedly a student at the school) and a minor female into custody. The minor was reported as a male at the scene yesterday, and that was changed to a female after arriving at the Sheriff's office.

One fatality. Three students in Critical Condition. Horrific, but it could have been much worse.

Law Enforcement and the School Staff were very well prepared. It sounds like they very rapidly got the kids away from the school building, and got them back to their parents in as controlled a manner as could be possible. Kudos to all of them, but it angers me that there's even a need to be prepared for such an event.

    There aren't words. It's maddening.

Gun deaths of school-age children in the United States have increased at an alarming rate, with 38,942 fatalities among 5- to 18-year-olds from 1999 to 2017, according to a new study by Florida Atlantic University's Schmidt College of Medicine.

Indeed, spikes in gun deaths over the past decade amount to epidemics, researchers said.

"It is sobering that in 2017, there were 144 police officers who died in the line of duty and about 1,000 active duty military throughout the world who died, whereas 2,462 school-age children were killed by firearms," said Dr. Charles Hennekens, the study's senior author and an academic adviser at the medical college.

The study, to be published in the American Journal of Medicine, found that children are being gunned down in staggering numbers, with the death rate six to nine times higher than other developed nations.

The gun deaths included 6,464 children between the ages of 5 and 14 years old (an average of 340 deaths per year), and 32,478 deaths in children between 15 and 18 years old (an average of 2,050 deaths per year), according to the study.

There was nothing done after the last mass shooting to prevent this one and there will be nothing after this mass shooting to prevent the next one and on and on and on. The only question is will the next one happen in a few days, a few weeks, or a few months.

Two Premier League footballers have been involved in a carjacking attempt by an armed gang in a London street.

    . . .

In a video that has circulated on social media, full-back Kolasinac is seen fighting off two men who are wielding knives.

The player can be seen jumping out of a vehicle to confront the masked men who had pulled alongside the car on mopeds.

If those attackers had guns, people probably would have died.

    Three dead.

Three people have been killed and 15 injured after a gunman attacked a food festival in California.

The gunman was shot dead by police shortly after he began firing, although police are investigating reports that a second suspect may still be at large.

The Gilroy Garlic Festival was about to end for the weekend on Sunday evening, when shots were fired at the site.

There was "a white man in his early to mid-30s firing a rifle," eyewitness Julissa Contreras told NBC.

    ...

Michael Paz, 72, a hat vendor at the festival, told the San Francisco Chronicle that he saw a gunman armed with a rapid-fire assault rifle. "He came ready to shoot because he was wearing a protective vest," Paz said. "He was shooting left; he was shooting right without any particular aim."

As police swooped on the gunman and shots were fired, festival attendees dropped to the ground, Mr Paz said.
I'm stunned, stunned I tell ya.

Oh, of course. They’ll do whatever is most politically required, whatever is least sane, most offensive and most likely to make the base get angry at those who aren’t at fault.

Followed by prayer and blaming mental illness and African-Americans in Chicago.

Then, in parts of the country, they’ll pass more laws to increase the chance of it happening in the future.

Look at that, I answered my own question.
