Most important Fitzpatrick has the respect of the whole team. He battles every game, gets the job done, plays hurt, and leads the team. He may not be an elite QB but he gets the job done and gives the team a chance to win. Geno is the total opposite, NOBODY respects him and he's such a complete no-IQ moron. He has no future in the NFL

Could not agree more. I said that exact thing, almost verbatim, yesterday.

Nick Folk on IR to end his season. Randy Bullock signed to take his spot - he's missed two PATs this season.

This is a major blow IMO.

Enormous, and the effect may be felt immediately in what may well be a field-position game Thursday.

I admit I'm not up on available kickers, but is Bullock the best out there, or is McCagnan just going with a "comfort" pick because he knows him from Houston?

Sounds like Fitzpatrick's hand gets operated on Friday. They are talking like they hope he'll be ready for the Houston game. Seems kind of ambitious? I wonder if they beat Buffalo to go 6-3, would Bowles be tempted to try to steal one with Smith in Texas rather than bringing Fitzpatrick back so fast, post-surgery?

Oof. The 3-4 playcalls of WR screens in short yardage on 3rd or 4th down were absolutely atrocious, as they each got completely stuffed. The Bills handed this game to the Jets on a silver platter in typical Rex Ryan fashion, and the Jets totally blew it. I cannot believe they did not get into the endzone after that muffed punt. Just pathetic.

It was the Jetsiest Jets loss I've seen in quite a while.

Huge, needed win against the Dolphins...and it didn't move the needle for me as much as I'd have thought.

Pleasant butt-whooping against a bad team today. Wilkerson just crazed.

Pittsburgh beating Cincinnati and San Diego's drive for a tying touchdown stalling at the 1 yard line hurt though.

I have a feeling this team is going to end up 10-6 (with the loss coming against NE). Sucks it might not be enough to make the playoffs, but some craptacular team will make it from the AFC South.

The Jets might not make the playoff even if they end up 11-5.

Re: 2015 New York Jets Thread

The New York Jets will surrender a sixth-round pick to the Houston Texans in the trade for Ryan Fitzpatrick now that that quarterback has played in 70 percent of the Jets' plays this season, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

When the Jets traded a conditional seventh-round pick to the Texans for Fitzpatrick in March, the agreement was that it would become a sixth-round pick if he reached that number, according to sources. And Fitzpatrick has now done that.

Well, the Bullock time bomb finally went off, and they survived it. Good sign I suppose. Thank God the Cowboys have NO quarterback.

Anyone noticing Bilal Powell's work the last several weeks? Wow.

Yes! Now we can predictably lose 10-6 to Rex next week and get knocked out while controlling our own destiny!!

Ha ha the Patriots "Abner Haynes'd" the coin flip. Unless the rules have been changed, you can elect to receive or kick, OR you can elect an end to defend. Saying "we'll kick" DOES NOT give you the right to choose your end. If you win and want to kick, you say "we'll defend THAT goal." Then the other team chooses kick or receive. But the minute you say "we'll kick," other team gets choice of goal to defend.

Google "Abner Haynes" and "1962 AFL Championship Game" and "we'll kick to the clock"

In this case, though, it seems they were more or less choosing to kick and didn't really have a strong preference of end to defend. It's not like there was a significant wind like there was in the 1962 game or a student section or something. They definitely meant to defend an end, but I think that was more or less arbitrary and didn't make a difference.
