Early surprise is that Jameis Winston is the early consensus number one pick in mock drafts.

Marcus Mariota is dropping down to the Jets. Some have him going to the Eagles.

    Sample mock draft:

If Mariota starts to drop then Kelly will probably trade up to around the Jets pick to get him. I'm SHOCKED that Winston has moved up on just about every mock. Did people just not watch him play?

I don't watch much college football, but didn't we just go through this with Luck vs Griffin?

If Griffin wasn't ruined by his franchise he would still be insane. This could end up Leaf/Manning, not that Mariota is as good as Peyton, but Winson could definitely end up out of the league in three years.

Meh - more like Winston will be incarcerated in three years....

Yes, the Leaf/Manning comparison would be a good one. For the record- at the time, I thought Leaf was going to be better than Manning, lololol... I criticized Beathard for giving up a king's ransom to move up, but then he would have ended up with Andre Wadsworth, who was as big of a bust.

But I thought Luck was going to be much better than Griffin. And we kind of disagree on Griffin because on any other team, I believe he still won't cut it due to fundamentals. We'll soon find out, I guess.

As far as Mariota vs Winston....I think Winston will be a solid starting QB, while Mariota will be a clipboard holder after a failed experiment.

I think Winston has no future in the league. He stinks. Mariota did some gimmicky stuff at Oregon, but that stuff is coming to the nfl. And if he ends up on the eagles they might be the nfc favorites.

What's with the GM's for the Browns...

Trade multiple picks to move up one spot to snag Trent Richardson.
Trading up to get Johnny Manziel in the first round.
Texting to coaches during the game, possibly costing them yet another draft pick.
Oh, and they drafted Brady Quinn in the first round. Ughh.

Their best move has been to fleece the Colts over Richardson. No wonder it's been forever since they made the postseason....

Ever since the NFL resurrected them, the Cleveland Browns made only one playoff appearance in 2002 whey they lost a heartbreaker AFC Wild Card loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers and a total of two winning seasons (2002: 9-7, 2007: 10-6, but no playoff appearance that season when the Steelers swept the season series).

Also since 1990, the Browns made two playoff appearances overall, 2002 and also 1994 when Bill Belichick beat Bill Parcells in the AFC Wild Card Round 20-13 before losing to the Steelers in the AFC Divisional Round 29-9 and had three winning seasons overall since 1990 (1994: 11-5, 2002: 9-7 and 2007: 10-6).

I was going to say I was sure he died a few years ago, but that was his son, Scott (in 2012), who hosted most of the shows when I was a kid. I didn't realize it was a family business. RIP. No one could make a highlight reel of a 3-13 Browns team look more dramatic than NFL Films (though, in fairness, no one else has had the balls to try.)

    A couple thoughts:

Why wasn't this made known when Spygate first happened? Why now? Why is it relevant at all?
Anyone else think that the NFL is starved for attention and releases something like this to stir the pot?

Oh - and the headline is COMPLETELY misleading...... Media sensationalism at its best.

Lions cut Reggie Bush and his $3.25 million for the upcoming season. I'd say these two factors played a role...

Bush, who turns 30 next month, played just 11 games last year and finished with 297 yards rushing, the second-lowest total of his career, as he took a backseat to Joique Bell in the running back rotation.

The Lions' decision to cut Bush comes weeks after The Advocate reported that a co-defendant in the Darren Sharper rape case told a Louisiana district attorney's office that he saw Bush putting the drug ecstasy in champagne glasses at a Las Vegas nightclub.

They end up saving like 7mil on the cap, which is probably a bigger part of it than anything else.

They didn't save as much as I would have thought. I guess it was his last year in the deal...

By cutting Bush, who was due a $3.25 million base salary this year and had $250,000 workout bonus in his contract, they created another $1.7 million in cap room.
