Manziel experiment seems be over. IMO, he will not beat out McCown, even if they don't resign Hoyer.

I see Johnny Manziel out of the NFL altogether. Maybe he will try his luck in the CFL.

Don't be surprised if you see him on the Bills. Rex Ryan would probably even make him captain.

Or the Raiders. I'm hoping he shows up on the Cowboys, though...

Suh is gonna cost an arm and leg.

Wonder how much Julius Thomas would go for. He'd look good in a Giants uniform.

Yeah, hmm. I like Alonso, and while McCoy has been awesome, RB's just don't last. I'd put the Eagles in the win column on this one.

I think it's good for both teams. Buffalo would have otherwise probably overpaid to keep Spiller. And there's a chance Kiko comes back having lost a step.

Buffalo already knows their defense can survive without him.

Sounds like Kelly wants to keep weeding out guys he doesnt like (Jackson, Shady)....and add more of his guys. I think he will try very hard to trade up for Mariota.

My point is you can easily keep Alonso and draft a RB in the 3rd or 4th Rd who achieves what Rex wants. No need to trade away a good upside player, although coming back from injury.

Have to have faith in management I suppose.

Huge win by Eagles. Saved a ton of money as Alonso makes under a million.

Ryan/Roman like ground and pound RBs, which McCoy is not.

I couldn't be happier that Shady McCoy has taken his nonsense out of the NFC East. Good riddance.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that's not how they'll use McCoy. Jackson will get short yard carries. McCoy will probably be used like he had been used in Philly.

Rumor gaining steam is foles and the eagles first and second through 2017 and a couple late rounders for Tampa's first rounder and mike Evans.

I hope to hell that it's true and that it blows up in Kelly's face.

I do too, but damn. Mariota could pretty much close his eyes and throw the ball up knowing one of Evans/Matthews/Maclin will probably come down with it.

Wow....am the only one thinking that's way too much to give up?

    1st and 2nd rounders in '15, '16, and '17?!

I know Mike Evans is included, but TB is getting Foles, too. Assuming this is for Mariota....he's not even expected to go until #6.

Mariota could go anywhere really, and getting Evans makes it better. So you get a starting qb and the wr that will probably have the best career out of what's considered the best wr draft in recent history.

OBJ will probably be the best WR from that draft, but I understand your point.

Also, I'm not complaining if this trade happens. I want the Eagles to make a bad trade.

    Re: 2015 NFL Season Thread

OBJ's size still worried me a bit outside. The athleticism will definitely outweigh it for the time being. But Evans might be the buold and skills you'd come up with if you were trying to come up with a #1 wide receiver.

You're right about the WR class being among the best ever- potentially.

The best I've ever seen was the Rice, Brown, Toon, Reed draft in '85. Two hall of famers. Let's see if the '14 matches up when all is said and done.

See me twice a year: San Francisco 49ers sign former Arizona Cardinals DL Darnell Dockett on a two-year deal
    http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/12...rancisco-49ers

That's a pretty nasty front-seven for the 49ers when everyone is healthy.

Dockett, Glenn Dorsey and Justin Smith (if he comes back for the 2015 season) up front with Aldon Smith, Aaron Lynch at OLB and Patrick Willis and Navorro Bowman at MLB. Backing them up include Tank Carradine, Quinton Dial, Ian Williams and Chris Borland.

Actually, three hall of famers now. Only Toon didn't make it there.
