    2. Goal difference
    3. Goals scored
    4. Play-off match(es) on neutral ground (if approved by FIFA Organizing Committee), with extra time and penalty shoot-out if necessary

Since there was no dedicated thread to the WWC, I'll just congratulate the USWNT here! Congrats. What a run.

Now if only someone created a thread in anticipation of FIFA 16's release...

That was an incredible run for Jill Ellis and the USWNT.

Their performances in the last two games, the semifinals against Nadine Angerer, Celia Sasic and Germany and the final in Vancouver's BC Place Stadium against Aya Miyama, Homare Sawa and defending champions Japan were phenomenal.

In those two games, Abby Wambach, Carli Loyd and company bossed the game by winning the possession battles and finish with authority.

Hope Solo, Julie Johnston and the defense allowed three goals in the entire tournament including a 540-minute shutout streak.

The final was amazing. Entering that game, Japan allowed only three goals in the entire 2015 tournament and Carli Lloyd and Lauren Holiday scored the first four goal of the final in the first 16 minutes with Lloyd scoring a hat-trick.

Hope Solo, Lloyd, Tobin Heath, Shannon Boxx, Abby Wambach, Alex Morgan, Holiday, Heather O'Reilly, Megan Rapinoe, Becky Sauerbrunn, Kelley O'Hara, Lori Chalupny, Sydney Leroux and Amy Rodriguez join an exclusive club of players that won both a FIFA Women's World Cup title and a Olympic Gold Medal.

The USWNT legends that came before them Briana Scurry, Carin Jennings-Gabarra, Cindy Parlow Cone, Carla Overbeck, Tiffany Roberts, Brandi Chastain, Shannon MacMillan, Mia Hamm-Garciaparra, Michelle Akers, Julie Foudy, Kristine Lilly, Joy Fawcett, Tisha Venturini, Tiffeny Milbrett, Saskia Webber and Kate (Sobrero) Markgraf and three Norwegian legends Bente Nordby, Hege Riise and Marianne Pettersen both won a FIFA Women's World Cup title and a Olympic Gold Medal.

Christie (Pearce) Rampone what a legend she is with five major titles (2 FIFA Women's World Cup titles, 3 Olympic Gold Medals).

Hopefully, Ali Krieger, who just missed out on a spot on the 2012 Olympic team in London with a knee injury, completes her career FIFA Women's World Cup title and Olympic Gold Medal double if the USWNT qualifies for Rio de Janeiro 2016 along with Morgan Brian, Julie Johnston, Meghan Klingenberg and Christen Press.

As a whole, the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup tournament was a thing of beauty to watch. A lot of parity with some great goals and some upset runs including the never say die Australia team sending Marta and Brazil packing in the Round of 16 and Fara Williams and England stunning Christine Sinclair and hosts Canada in the quarterfinals en route to a bronze medal finish.

I would also like to give a shout out to Jorge Sampaoli, Claudio Bravo, Alexis Sanchez and Chile for their first ever major tournament title victory after outlasting Lionel Messi and Argentina in front of their home fans in Santiago in the 2015 CONMEBOL Copa America tournament.

I bet our Chilean poster Dexilieno51 is still beaming with glee after Chile outlasted one of their hated rivals to win their first major tournament title and a spot in the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup in Russia.

Speaking of the FIFA Confederations Cup, let's see if Jurgen Klinsmann and the USMNT win the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup. If they do, the USMNT automatically qualifies for the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup. If they don't, the USMNT, who won the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup, takes on the winner of the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup champion in a playoff for the CONCACAF slot.
