Avengers 2 is quite terrible and bloated and stupid.

    Infinity War though was awesome.

Finally watched Deadpool2 this weekend. I agree it was a good family movie.

Iíve seen a good chunk of the Marvel catalogue of movies, some better than others. But Iím into that kind of thing. I can see where others are not.

In other superhero news, looks like Henry Cavill is out at Superman over at DC. Yeah, because he was the problem....

Maybe now he can be the next Bond though.

PSA. Do NOT even THINK of subscribing to MoviePass. I bought an annual plan in March for a total of $105. Deal was one movie free per day. Too good to be true? Agreed, but what they did to me is unethical. Around Mid June, they started blocking first run popular box office movies for the first 2-3 weeks and charged based on how popular. That didnít work so they started in July limiting the film choices eligible for moviepass on a given day. Then they announced for monthly plans and when annual passes expire, will only pay 3 free movies per month and. ďUp toĒ $5 credit for movie 4 on up. Ok that stinks but I am fine until March of 2019. Then I get a message saying that they are altering my plan and I now would be limited to the three free movies a month AND with the limited film choice. Today I have one eligible film, a kids movie! We had the option of cancelling by 8/31/18 but foolishly I did not. Last week moviepass started sending emails to those that did cancel and WITHOUT PERMISSION, reactivated their account under the original terms (one movie per day with no film blackouts). So because I didnít cancel I am stuck with a useless card. I am out! DO NOT SUBSCRIBE!

Yeah, Iím basically in the situation you are. I didnít even know I had the chance to cancel, I have to make a point of seeing just a few more movies to make my money back.

Since theyíve been limiting the movies, it sucks even more that you canít see whatís available tomorrow, only whatís available today.

I was just month to month. They sent me a notice they would no longer take PayPal as payment and requested a credit card. Ha. Yeah right. See ya.

Noooo. I saw more movies this past year in the theater than I've ever seen in a single year in my life. No regrets whatsoever. And I think I'm going to try Sinema next.

Sounds like a way to anally expel your evil deeds.

How did that make it through the focus groups?

I like the space flicks, so we went to see First Man last night. It seems that what they were hoping to get across to viewers was just how difficult it was to pull off the Gemini and Apollo flights, how dangerous it was and how it affected friends and families of the astronauts. Mission accomplished there. Good story line, good acting.

Then there's the directing, done by Damien Chazelle who did a great job directing Whiplash. Not such a good job here. The action scenes were okay, but the rest of it appeared to be mostly a hand-held camera at way too close range of his subjects....made you kind of sick to your stomach watching it and it distracted from the story line a lot.

Long movie, almost 2.5 hours, could have been easily done in 2. A solid B on the Bub scale.

Wifey and I saw The Old Man and the Gun last night.

I knew she'd love it because she loves anything with Robert Redford, but I really enjoyed it too.

If you liked any of director David Lowery's previous movies (Pete's Dragon, A Ghost Story), you'll probably like this one as well.

Saw Bohemian Rhapsody last night. Movie critics are lukewarm about it, but I couldn't disagree more. The movie was very powerful with an excellent story line and great acting. If you're a Queen fan it's a must see movie, and even if you're not it's well worth the time. Bohemian Rhapsody gets an A on the Bub scale, probably the first A I've handed out here.

Don't remember hearing any of it, although they fast tracked a few songs so perhaps a few measures. This Thing Called Love was excluded even though they did that in the Live Aid concert. I found that peculiar since that was a huge song in the U.S.

Radio Gaga is arguably the most relevant song in the past 75 years.

So don't become some background noise
A backdrop for the girls and boys
Who just don't know and just don't care
And just complain when you're not there
You have the time you have the power
You've yet to have your finest hour
    Radio (Radio)

All we hear is Radio ga ga
    Radio goo goo

    Radio blah blah

Gloriously so. But then again, I always preferred Dragon Attack to Another One Bites the Dust.

I mean, Fat Bottomed Girls is a great, great song, but it doesn't provoke this kind of response:

The call/response going on in that stadium is arguably the greatest of any band. Freddie was the greatest frontman of all time.

My favorite is Freddie visibly moved, conducting his largest-ever crowd of 300,000+ Brazilians, singing his music acapella , at Rock in Rio in January 1985...in a language THEY DID NOT KNOW!

I got to get to know the band on their eight-hour flight down the day before, as I shared the small upstairs first-class cabin of a Varig 747--just me and the band. Early in the flight I answered a question they were wondering about (how long is Rio de Janeiro's eponymous river?) and they got me to telling Brazil stories and answering more questions. They were really excited to be playing in Brazil and wanted to know everything about the place. Modesty aside, I do that pretty well. They had some good C, too.

On arrival, their translator did not show so the road manager asked me to present Freddie and the boys to the then-Governor of Rio de Janeiro State Leonel Brizola and his awestruck fan granddaughter at Gale„o airport at six in the morning.

    Truly a night to remember.

For those who are wondering, there ain't no Rio in Rio de Janeiro. Dumbass Portuguese captain Gaspar de Lemos sailed into riverless Guanabara Bay in January 1502, thought it was the mouth of a huge river, and gave the place the name of a river that does not exist. His mistake lives on 500 years later.

I have not seen the film, but I will, soon.
