Thread: Thanks, Bub!

  1. #1

    Thanks, Bub!

So today I made a change that I knew was coming for quite a while: at his own request, Bub has been made a regular, non-admin, member of the NYYF community. Bob has been hugely responsible for the tenor and success of this site. He even delayed his retirement from NYYF Adminship for a year to help keep track of new users and other site matters. The role of "Administrator" here on the forum is something I protect quite closely, and Bob is the only other person I've given those keys to. He has always shown impeccable judgement and had a full understanding of the values that made NYYF such a great place for people to talk about the Yankees. I've always trusted him implicitly and will miss the security and comfort I felt knowing that he was on patrol.

Now Bob becomes the 3rd member of the "NYYF Ultra-Moderator HOF" - he joins ring403 and Bozidar who are forever immortalized in the history of this site.

If we had numbers, Bob, we'd be retiring yours today. Maybe I can put a black arm band on the NYYF logo?

Thank you my friend, truly. For everything. This entire community, and myself especially, have a ton of gratitude for everything you've done.

    -Jim

You get plenty of respect, Bub. And you deserve it.

    Thanks for everything.

Thanks for those very kind words, Jim. This place has been a big part of my daily routine for many years and I've enjoyed it more than I can possibly say. From Bronx-Bombers.com to today you should be proud that what you hatched is still going after all this time. Here's to many more years to come!

Thanks Bob for all you've done for the forum, but more importantly for being a great friend.

Bub's a regular user? Now I can REALLY say what I think of him!

    Only kidding!

Look, this site is so much a part of my day, it's crazy. Especially during the week.
Anything that makes this site a better place to visit is gigantically awesome in my book.
Bub is definitely one of the people that make this site better. His moderation was second to none in keeping this place respectable.

Thanks Bub. Not only do we enjoy your opinions (most of the time ) but you've made NYYFANS life better as a whole!

    nice post/thread Jim!

Bob - thanks for everything you've done to keep the site running so smoothly and for doing it with thoughtfulness and class...you've earned another retirement! Glad you will be able to appreciate the site as a "regular" poster now. It's nice having you as one of my invisible friends - one who will run down during work and buy/eat a Baby Ruth bar to keep my superstitions going. Hugs, Jeanne

Congrats man. It's a tough, thankless job. Hell, I've even been aggravated at you at times. But it's your job and that job is not to be liked all the time by everyone. You did well.

I never knew his name was Bob. Knowing that kind of ruins my image of him. I know lots of Bobs but a Bub? That's a rarity (except for those guys that call everyone Bub).
