Here's a new one for me-- maybe you car guys have seen this before, but I haven't.

My wife told me the cigarette power thingy in her car stopped working, so I told her it was probably a blown fuse and I'd go look at it. Turned out to be just that, and I changed it out.

Went to start the car to test the thing, no crank. I have power. Starter just not even trying.

I come upstairs and ask her if she has had any starter trouble. Negative.

I open the fuse box back up to see if maybe I jostled an ignition fuse or something, and everything seems ok. No warnings or anything on the control panel and no security light.

Baffled, I google my issue and I finally found the problem.

Here's what the fuse box under the hood looks like:

See those three bolts in the middle? When I opened the fuse box, there was a plastic cover held on by those bolts. It said on it 'Remove and discard when servicing fuses' or something to that affect. Well, I figured I'd just unscrew the bolts then put the cover back on instead of throwing it out. The problem is the screws only come out so far, so you have to pop the lid off, which breaks off the fins that snapped the thing to the bolts, so you can't put it back on. So I didn't.

Well, the no start condition I was experiencing was due to not tightening those three bolts back up. Once I did that the car started right up.

It's OK. We already knew you had a few screws loose.

    ...but, they're, uh, bolts?

The deck is uneven right from the start, and all of their hands are playing apart
