    Because you have so much free time on your hands.

    I once volunteered to assist a tee ball coach. That led to 8 years of coaching practically year round. You'll be council president in no time.

    It's separate from the PTA. The PTA requires a much bigger time commitment. This is the best explanation I can find:

    Ha! They said it's only a once a month deal, but it's a two-year term. Apparently the meetings can last a couple hours. I don't know why I do this to myself.
