    Re: The Red Sox Thread

Former Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz said to a Boston radio station Friday that a 2009 New York Times report stating Ortiz and Manny Ramirez tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs in 2003 was in response to New York Yankees players getting caught.

    It's irrelevant.

Until you can explain The Deflator and the text messages, it doesn't matter.

Unless you're buying the "needed to lose weight" excuse.
Well if you're going to ignore science than this conversation is pointless.

NE Patriots discussion is down the hall to the right and through the 3rd door on the left.

Let's keep this thread about making fun of the Red Sox.

Do you guys think Price will be able to get back and contribute for the Sox? I hear he is suppose to make a rehab start soon. Maybe back by the end of the month if he stays healthy with no setbacks.
I think that's a fair assessment of E-Rod and generally encompasses how I feel about him. I will say that I think he has solid upside, and I could see him flirting with ace type numbers for a season or two before his career is over if things go right for him.

No real feeling on Price other than hope. We sure could use him right now, that's for sure.

And you're selectively ignoring actual facts that don't support your case.

Even if the science proves why footballs could be the way they are. Fine.

Why did the Patriots have a guy in charge of footballs who calls himself "The Deflator", why did he have text messages talking about deflating footballs, and why did Brady refuse to turn over evidence pertaining to the investigation?

If it was straight science, your "proof" would have exonerated them and it would have been nothing.

Third worst ISO, lowest K% (good!), and the second lowest HR total in the majors. How long before DD trades Devers++++ for Arenado?

Arenado would kill it at Fenway. Please don't let this happen.

Don't see it happening with Rockies winning games, but its definitely something DD would do. He will ruin the Red Sox. Just wait

A package of Rafael Devers, Jay Groome, Sam Travis and a random throw-in of former top prospect Blake Swihart (remember him?) for Arenado should be enough to make soxprospects.com server explode.

I think the Rockies ask for more than that. Groome and that kid SS in double a, with Devers, as a starting point. It will take others also. Rockies are on the upswing and won't trade Arenado unless it's a big package coming their way, and he gives indications he intends to test FA.

Red Sox called up their #3 prospect 1B Sam Travis today. Optioned SP Velasquez. Price may be back next week.

Farrell, even when he won the 2013 World Series as a rookie manager was not popular in all corners of the clubhouse
It may have been his first year at the helm in Boston but he had managed in Toronto first.

Sox waking up. Swept the Rangers and now only 3 out. And Price back. Yikes.

Not concerned, they're supposed to be good.

I just don't believe they're "yikes" good. Outside of the Kimbrel resurgence, nobody, to me, is doing anything surprising.
