Maybe I am thinking about disciplinary suspensions which I know for a fact do.

according to the basic agreement, failing for a diuretic/masking agreement doesn't trigger an automatic ban. the IPA (independent program administer) is charged with ruling on whether the player intended to mask. the IPA must have ruled that cano did intend to mask.

I had thought so. But as there is a clear medical reason for it I would assume, or at least think, had he notified MLB with a doctor’s letter, that may have changed the outcome

Sucks if this is all true.

Was thinking about posting a poll because I believe Robbie was approaching HOF status heading into this year..

Always was suspicious of him juicing. Was glad the Yankees didn't re-sign him when the terms became too much and even happier now.

I seriously don't buy this "I didnt know what was in it excuse..." Seriously, players need to make an effort to check everything they put in their body and or atleast document it.
The real reason why the Yankees keep winning is cause the other team can't stop staring at the damn pinstripes

Evidently I was mistaken but I think they need medical clearance to do that

    Exactly, and F**k Cano.

He deserves every second, every minute of that suspension.

Both Michael Young and Verlander should shut up. Verlander should more Flonase, stuffing his nose with it.

For the record, the first part of this post is a matter of public record. The part of it possibly being a factor in the Cano negotiations is speculation on my part.
IIRC, his personal assistant was on the mailing list. Go figure.

Sure it has medical uses, like in congestive heart failure and/or kidney failure or for ascites from cirrhosis of the liver. Arent all 35 year old athletes taking this for valid medical reasons?

Former Yankee Russell Martin played shortstop tonight for the Blue Jays against the Mets in Queens.

Re: The Former Yankee Performance Thread v4.0

Hmm, so if I understand right ... Cano tested positive before the season began, but this wasn't made public because he appealed. So now that he's facing a long DL stint with the broken finger ... he drops the appeal? So he can subtract the games on the DL from the total number he would have missed with the DL plus the suspension? And he must have known all along he wouldn't win the appeal, or why drop it?

Somehow, this makes it all the worse for me.

That's not really related to his suspension though - ineligibility for the playoffs comes with all Mariners' contracts.

Oooooh, that's cold, lol. I do believe they have the longest non-playoff streak in MLB.
