All I know is that they were on the money when they said he has an elementary half fastball.

And I was curious about the fans' reaction to this signing so I Google translated some of the comments. Not very useful but there seem to be some key points made about "sucking" and a reference to a "slave pen" (they must be very familiar with Joe Torre's body of work).

The A's added some much-needed experience to their rotation by reportedly agreeing to a one-year deal with free-agent pitcher Bartolo Colon, ESPN reported Sunday.
Colon's deal is worth nearly $2 million and could include a signing bonus, according to MLB.com.

that article said oakland was bringing much needed experience by adding colon, implying that colon's experience can flow around the team like some sort of positive energy.

The Giants and OF Melky Cabrera avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $6 million contract.

A nice (and well-deserved) raise for Melky. The 27-year-old batted .305/.339/.470 with 18 home runs and 20 stolen bases in 155 games last season for the Royals while earning $1.25 million. He's expected to start in one of the corner outfield positions this year in San Francisco.
Melky is going to make it rain this season.

His season last year was easily worth $6MM. Of course, no guarantee he repeats it. His babip was pretty high last year. I smell a return to the mean.

Talk about a back to the bushes career. Amazing to think he was once career comp for Youkilis when the later was a top prospect.
