  2. Boston to Add 300 Seats on Top of Green Monster

http://www.savefenwaypark.com/Improvements/Improve2003.html Around 300 Monster seats and another 200 RF Roof seats to be added. Result: Fenway will look uglier than normal, and with less wind coming in over the Green Monster there will be more pop up homers.

  6. Baseball Tries to Attract Women Viewers...with Softball???

I think Selig is finally getting it that he needs to do something to promote the sport...but I don't get how this is going to help...maybe he should just try not bashing baseball for awhile first...that might go a long way. excerpt: http://espn.go.com/mlb/news/2002/1121/1464212.html NEW YORK -- Major league baseball wants to attract more women and families, and thinks softball might be one way to do it. The sport on Thursday announced a partnership with National Pro...

  7. Are the Phillies Out of Control?

Every few years, it seems a team comes along that's spending like a drunken sailor--mostly on aging stars. The Yankees "were" notorious for this. At it's worst, we got stuck with a lot of high priced antiques and didn't start winning championshipd until after Gene Michael put his stamp on the team's management. Who can forget the Baltimore's spending spree that netted them Albert Belle among others. Florida kind of fit in this category, but they did win a WS and quickly went back to...

This is an absolute disgrace and...

  9. A Magical Night

I got to watch the premier of MLB's 2002 WS video at the House of Blues in Anaheim. Troy Glaus, Adam Kennedy, Brendan Donnelly, Mike Scioscia, Rex Hudler and about 300 other people were in the room. It was AMAZING! A few things. Troy is HUGE. Kennedy is tiny. They all look like regular guys. The players were cheering and booing along with all the other people in the room. Anyone who doesn't think defense doesn't count. The two biggest cheers I heard from the players were for a Scott...

  10. Seattle and Oakland in Japan

Oakland and Seattle will play 2 games (March 25, 26) to open the 2003 season in Japan. They will alternate home games. Then both teams will fly back and play 3 exhibition games and then play their third game of the year the following week. Another brilliant idea by MLB!

  15. Think about this, what do YOU dislike about baseball the most?

For me it's simple. I can't get a decent seat in Yankee stadium. I went to 4 games this year and never sat anywhere near the field. Tier seats for all games. Some games I got tickets 2 months in advance. Any decent seat is gone to corporate season ticket holders and those guys leave in the seventh inning. As a distant second, I'm appalled at the players attitudes as they walk from the stadium to their cars after the game. Personally, I've never seen even one stop to sign an autograph. Even...

  20. Unique Idea for Winning More Games, With Same Personnel!

Here is my idea on how the Orioles could use a unique strategy to lower the opposing teamsí such as the Yankees batting average and power. I have put this on Sunspot, and I wonder what you Yankee fans think of this idea. My idea would also limit the opposing managerís options in stacking their lineups to platoon their right and handed hitters against the Orioles. To summarize, the Orioles could ruin the opposing teamsí platoon by letting their starting pitcher face a single batter,...
