All your mega-thread goodness is right here. (Formerly Inside the Lines)

  1. Sticky Thread Sticky: ATTENTION EVERYONE – New Community Standards

Big news - our revised Community Standards are finally online. Please access them on the footer of the page, towards the right-hand edge..... The main point of differentiation between NYYFans and most other sports forums is the sense of community that has been fostered here, since our site was founded many years ago. In order to maintain this atmosphere, we must hold posters to certain basic expectations when participating here..... To this end, we will be conducting a relaunch of our...

  3. Sticky Thread Sticky: When Posting About the Yankees Management...

We tried to give everyone a little extra leeway the past week or so to allow everyone to vent, but now that things have calmed down a little I would just like to remind everyone that the community standards apply not just regarding posts about players or your fellow users, but also when you're posting about those in Yankees management. We encourage everyone to post their opinions freely, positive or negative, about the Yankees management or anything else, but please make sure to do so in an...

  4. Sticky Thread Sticky: Does it Belong in a Mega-Thread or Should it Get its Own Thread?

The mega-threads, i.e "The Official Player X Performance Thread" have their purpose for discussions such as general commentary and analysis about the players or their performance in recent games. In addition, we don't want users to start a new thread for every little thought about a particular player or game. However, there are some topics that are important enough to have their own thread. We encourage users to start new threads about players or the team when there's something newsworthy. ...

  2. 2019 Clint Frazier Performance Thread

I'm a known fanboy of Frazier and very bullish on his future, but objectively the question about him remains - will he be able to translate his elite prospect status and minor league dominance to the Major League level? I'm sure there will be ups and downs and polarizing opinions on the kid, but hopefully the injuries to Stanton/Hicks are the crack in the door that he needs to get traction in the bigs. Regardless of whether or not it happens yesterday was a great moment for him after...

Sanchez leads the majors with 4 errors already. He is on pace to have 130 errors.

  4. 2019 Health/Injury Performance Thread

Off to a inauspicious start: Sevvy with inflammation (seems a bit odd to me) Ellsbury with something or the other (just retire) Hicks with a sore/stiff lower back (works out too much?) CC - angioplasty and knee surgery: it's alright

  5. 2019 Umpires Performance Thread

There have already been a bunch of terrible strike zone calls in the first week of the season, but lets start this year's thread off with a beauty. Ed Hickox calls a 3-1 pitch to Aaron Judge a strike. I won't stop saying it: the biggest failure in any of the major sports is MLB's lethargic approach to a strikezone called by technology. Hopefully the Atlantic League stuff they're experimenting with moves to the Majors fast.

  6. 2019 Luke Voit Performance Thread

One game in. 1-for-1, with a run, 1 HR, 4 RBIs, 2 walks and 1 HBP. That's an OPS of 1.000, a SLG of 4.000, and an OPS of 5.000. Not a bad start.

  10. Yankees' Season Long Tribute to the Late Mel Stottlemyre

I remember fondly of Mel Stottlemyre who, while Mets manager Dave Johnson was beside himself with anxiety, stoically sat next to him bottom of the 9th, down 5-3 to the Red Sox in Game 6 of the World Series just three outs from being eliminated. Calm and collected he was just like after the Braves took the first two games at Yankee Stadium I. Manager Joe Torre was the saddest looking dude in that dugout. End result of both World Series = Stottlemyre earned two World Series rings; five in...

  12. 2019 DJ LeMahieu Performance Thread

Love this dude. I’m glad he started off well. I spent a lot of time defending him at the time of the acquisition. I was thrilled we got him, and surprised at the amount of hate it got. He’s an almost super utility guy and gets on base. What a really good day today. He made like 3 sick plays and another 2 really good ones. If Voit had picked that one throw late in the game it would have been a web gem. First time I’ve ever made a player performance thread! Glad I got to do it with a player I...

  14. 2019 CC Sabathia Performance Thread

Today he pitched 4 2/3 innings for Tampa hosting Lakeland. He pitched 4 2/3 innings with 1 hit, 1 run that was earned, 1 walk, and 6 strikeouts. The only hit he allowed was a single by second baseman Kody Clemens, who is the youngest of Roger's four children. Considering that Kody is in A Advanced and this is Sabathia's last year, I bet Kody wasn't expecting to get a hit off CC. Sabathia left down 1-0 and was replaced by Janson Junk. No MLB player has had the first or last name "Junk." A...

After a solid season in 2018 and a great playoffs, Tanaka is starts 2019 with a solid performance and a win. Here’s hoping he stays healthy. In my mind he’s our ace.

  16. 2019 Joe Harvey Performance Thread

He was promoted and Loaisiga was demoted. https://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=harvey000joe has his minor league statistics. He's 27 and hasn't pitched in MLB yet. Last year he had a 1.66 ERA for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, which goes down to 1.59 if you combine it with 2 1/3 scoreless innings this year. He had a 7.11 ERA in Spring Training.

  17. Get back The Toe!

If Tulo is going on the IL now that he just got hurt, the Yanks should try to get back Torrey’s from Minnesota. The “Toe” could be useful for that depleted Yankee infield.

  18. 2019 Gio Urshela Performance Thread

He was promoted, Thairo Estrada was demoted without playing, and Gregorius went on the 60 day IL to get Urshela on the 40 man roster. https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/u/urshegi01.shtml has his statistics. He had a .608 OPS in 46 plate appearances with Toronto last year. He made his MLB debut for Cleveland on June 9, 2015, and he went by Giovanny Urshela then. Including 2015 and 2017 with Cleveland and 2018 with Toronto, he has a .589 OPS in 499 plate appearances. He has 8 home...

  19. 2019 Miguel Andujar Spring Performance Thread

http://riveraveblues.com/2019/01/considering-positioning-factor-andujars-defense-183419/ "Getting Andujar into a comfortable stance in order to make a quick first movement is important, but what about moving Andujar a few steps back? Would he be more comfortable standing a few feet further away from the infield grass, thereby giving him more time to get to wide grounders? It seems pretty logical. Of course, it could also be too good to be true." A pretty real possibility Andujar goes to...
