2. Sticky Thread Sticky: When Posting About the Yankees Management...

We tried to give everyone a little extra leeway the past week or so to allow everyone to vent, but now that things have calmed down a little I would just like to remind everyone that the community standards apply not just regarding posts about players or your fellow users, but also when you're posting about those in Yankees management. We encourage everyone to post their opinions freely, positive or negative, about the Yankees management or anything else, but please make sure to do so in an...

  3. Sticky Thread Sticky: Does it Belong in a Mega-Thread or Should it Get its Own Thread?

The mega-threads, i.e "The Official Player X Performance Thread" have their purpose for discussions such as general commentary and analysis about the players or their performance in recent games. In addition, we don't want users to start a new thread for every little thought about a particular player or game. However, there are some topics that are important enough to have their own thread. We encourage users to start new threads about players or the team when there's something newsworthy. ...

  1. Chris Carter 2017 Performance Thread

I thought I would start this thread by pointing out that Matt Holliday was walked five times in five at bats in the game yesterday. Carter was batting behind him. I think this shows some disrespect, though Carter himself walked a couple of times. Let's hope that Carter in limited action starts to show a little bit of his power sooner rather than later. He obviously is not going to show much else, including defense at first.

  2. The Official 2017 Aaron Judge Performance Thread

It only took until Friday afternoon, February 24th, for me to get fired up about Aaron Judge in 2017. Damn I hope this guy is legit. This is an absolute bomb, and some lucky driver on Dale Mabry Highway came within inches of a smashed windshield.

  3. DON"T LIE!! Ok now to the truth: Did you think Hick's had it in him all along?

I know there were numerous fellas here who hated on Mr. Hicks. Tell the truth! Were you one of them? IF you were, do you now feel that you were wrong, or is Mr. Hicks just having a very temporary lucky streak? Now IF you were a fan of Mr. Hicks all along, are you now proud of your previous allegiance to him? Also, do you now feel that those who had been bad-mouthing him are now looking quite stupid?

  4. 2017 Aaron Hicks Thread

Just to divert discussion from the abomination thread. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/theres-another-yankee-taking-off/ this article is very good in noting that Hicks is swinging at high pitches more and laying off of low pitches. higher pitches generally = more flyballs = more power. the article also mentions how judge is doing the same. a concern with judge is that his swing tends to produce groundballs, but it seems that he's largely mitigating this issue by not swinging at...

  5. Official immutable Tommy Layne performance thread 2017

In B4 the DFA Lefthandedness is not a skill, it is a genetic happenstance, come on Girardi/Cashman let's get rid of this guy. I am sick of Tommy Layne and so is Pink Floyd. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PFEU_BQL6dc

  7. The 2009 Joe Girardi Performance Thread

Despite missing the playoffs for the first time since 1993, the Yankees actually out-performed their Pythagorean number by 2 games in Girardi's first season (89-73 to 87-85). But far too often the team appeared unmotivated, uninterested and disjointed at times, especially when you break down some of their offensive numbers in comparison to recent seasons. There was clearly a different approach employed by the 2008 team. Was that due to a morale problem stemming from Girardi's style? Or...

  8. 2017 Tanaka Thread

I really don't like this guy, always seemed like something was *off* about him despite the brief stints of solid performance here and there. But here we have an important game and he's sh*tting the bed yet again, against a bad team too. He needs to have that surgery, on his head or something. Will not be sad to see him go.

  9. 2017 C.C. Sabathia Performance Thread

He had a pretty bad spring training, presenting a big cause for concern that the end is nigh. He no longer is protected by a multiyear contract. He may present the next big decision for the Yankees. But let's just hope he can at least perform one more year at a back end starter level and a couple of the young guys pitch well enough to compensate.

  10. 2017 Chase Headley Thread

This guy deserves a thread just for showing up with a clear strategy for beating the shift. Why can't everybody do this? And now he's stealing bases ... am I going to have to buy a Headley t-shirt?

  11. Don't fall in love with Matt Holliday

Take it from a Cardinal fan. He will break you heart. He was the single worst clutch hitter batting in the 3 hole I have ever seen. He's an iron man. I've seen fastballs bounce off his knees, wrists, head, etc. and the guy doesn't even grimace. And he never gets sick. Ready to play every day. His problem is that he has the Mantle approach: hit everything out of the park on every AB. Too bad he doesn't have a Mantle batting eye.

  12. 2017 Luis Severino Thread

Don't know how a guy like Romine has a general thread and Severino does not. Still one of the largest pieces of our future in our opinion. If he can just limit the home run, he still has ace potential, even though that's a HUGE if. Great start tonight, too.

  13. 2017 Jordan Montgomery thread

Solid outing. Loses command a bit at times. However, swing and miss stuff certainly there. Only downside to Montgomery is his weird parents. That interview was cringe worthy.

  17. 2017 Injury Update thread

We don't seem to have an Official 2017 Gary Sanchez thread, so how about one of these where people can post the latest news on his biceps? Plenty of other injuries to worry about too. For instance:

Greg Bird said foot/ankle feels better... But was up all night with flu like symptoms ... 19. Matt Holliday Thread

Anyone concerned with Holliday's penchant for swings and misses? He seems to really come off the ball, especially on pitches outside and down, reminiscent of our buddies Soriano and Starlin Castro.

  20. Castro..

Perhaps he's a bittttt better than people on this board have given him credit for... As I stated before the season began, he's still only 26 (just turned 27), some are late bloomers, always had the tools.. Imagine how good he would be if he had any kind of plate discipline.
