All your mega-thread goodness is right here. (Formerly Inside the Lines)

  1. Sticky Thread Sticky: ATTENTION EVERYONE – New Community Standards

Big news - our revised Community Standards are finally online. Please access them on the footer of the page, towards the right-hand edge..... The main point of differentiation between NYYFans and most other sports forums is the sense of community that has been fostered here, since our site was founded many years ago. In order to maintain this atmosphere, we must hold posters to certain basic expectations when participating here..... To this end, we will be conducting a relaunch of our...

  3. Sticky Thread Sticky: When Posting About the Yankees Management...

We tried to give everyone a little extra leeway the past week or so to allow everyone to vent, but now that things have calmed down a little I would just like to remind everyone that the community standards apply not just regarding posts about players or your fellow users, but also when you're posting about those in Yankees management. We encourage everyone to post their opinions freely, positive or negative, about the Yankees management or anything else, but please make sure to do so in an...

  4. Sticky Thread Sticky: Does it Belong in a Mega-Thread or Should it Get its Own Thread?

The mega-threads, i.e "The Official Player X Performance Thread" have their purpose for discussions such as general commentary and analysis about the players or their performance in recent games. In addition, we don't want users to start a new thread for every little thought about a particular player or game. However, there are some topics that are important enough to have their own thread. We encourage users to start new threads about players or the team when there's something newsworthy. ...

  1. 2019 Brain Cashman Performance Thread

This excerpt from an upcoming book about the Yankee front office should get this thread off to a good start whether positive or negative towards Cashman.:D https://nypost.com/2019/03/20/inside-the-derek-jeter-brian-cashman-feud-that-festered-for-years-before-stanton-heist/ https://www.hmhbooks.com/shop/books/Inside-the-Empire/9781328589354

  2. 2019 Health/Injury Performance Thread

Off to a inauspicious start: Sevvy with inflammation (seems a bit odd to me) Ellsbury with something or the other (just retire) Hicks with a sore/stiff lower back (works out too much?) CC - angioplasty and knee surgery: it's alright

  3. 2019 Giancarlo Stanton Performance Thread

He hit a three-run homer in SWB's 16-3 loss at Durham. Durham's Jake Cronenworth had a home run, triple, double, and 2 walks, but no single. Only 9 MLB players from 1908 to the present have done that. Of those players, Carlos Santana is the only active one, and Willie Mays is the best one.

  4. 2019 J.A. Happ Performance Thread

He pinch-hit for German, giving him plate appearances in consecutive games. I wonder when the last time a Yankees pitcher had plate appearances in consecutive games. As for his primary job, he 1-2 with a 4.68 ERA. His home run rate is too high, and his strikeout rate is low.

  6. 2019 Clint Frazier Performance Thread

I'm a known fanboy of Frazier and very bullish on his future, but objectively the question about him remains - will he be able to translate his elite prospect status and minor league dominance to the Major League level? I'm sure there will be ups and downs and polarizing opinions on the kid, but hopefully the injuries to Stanton/Hicks are the crack in the door that he needs to get traction in the bigs. Regardless of whether or not it happens yesterday was a great moment for him after...

  7. 2019 Kendrys Morales Performance Thread

After being traded for yesterday, he was put on the 25 man roster and is batting fifth as the DH in the second game of today's doubleheader. Through 2 innings, he walked on four pitches, Frazier flied out, and five Yankees struck out, albeit Hicks took a low pitch and should have been given a walk. Yesterday he entered the 40 man roster when Loaisiga was put on the 60 day IL. https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/m/moralke01.shtml has his statistics. He has a .783 career OPS, but only...

  8. 2019 Luke Voit Performance Thread

One game in. 1-for-1, with a run, 1 HR, 4 RBIs, 2 walks and 1 HBP. That's an OPS of 1.000, a SLG of 4.000, and an OPS of 5.000. Not a bad start.

  9. 2019 Thairo Estrada Performance Thread

He hit his first career home run, and John Sterling didn't have a call for his name. Tauchman followed with a ground-rule double to left, meaning that Estrada came close to having his first career home run be part of back-to-back. On August 13, 2016, Tyler Austin batted seventh, Aaron Judge batted eighth, and they both homered in their first career plat appearance. Estrada's home run could help him stay in MLB and have Wade or Tauchman sent down for Loaisiga.

Come on, give this man a thread! Lost in the Sanchquake and Clintquake today, he was tremendous. More with command today than K-power. A positive early-season story.

  13. 2019 Umpires Performance Thread

There have already been a bunch of terrible strike zone calls in the first week of the season, but lets start this year's thread off with a beauty. Ed Hickox calls a 3-1 pitch to Aaron Judge a strike. I won't stop saying it: the biggest failure in any of the major sports is MLB's lethargic approach to a strikezone called by technology. Hopefully the Atlantic League stuff they're experimenting with moves to the Majors fast.

After a solid season in 2018 and a great playoffs, Tanaka is starts 2019 with a solid performance and a win. Here’s hoping he stays healthy. In my mind he’s our ace.

  15. 2019 Stephen Tarpley Performance Thread

He's back in MLB after being on the Opening Day roster and being sent down without a topic. His innings, runs, earned runs, hits, and walks are the same in MLB and for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. https://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=tarple000ste has his statistics.

  17. 2019 Gio Urshela Performance Thread

He was promoted, Thairo Estrada was demoted without playing, and Gregorius went on the 60 day IL to get Urshela on the 40 man roster. https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/u/urshegi01.shtml has his statistics. He had a .608 OPS in 46 plate appearances with Toronto last year. He made his MLB debut for Cleveland on June 9, 2015, and he went by Giovanny Urshela then. Including 2015 and 2017 with Cleveland and 2018 with Toronto, he has a .589 OPS in 499 plate appearances. He has 8 home...

  18. 2019 Brett the Jet Gardner Performance Thread

Starting this thread for the perpetually underappreciated veteran, likely in his final year with the team. He's on pace right now for yet another 2+ WAR season. Despite the low BA, he's posting the highest ISO of his career, his lowest K-rate ever, and his highest walk rate since 2010. Yes, he should be a backup at this point, and yet he's still our best defensive OFer, at age 35. Edit: "Jett" should have one T.

  20. 2019 Aroldis Chapman Performance Thread

He won AL Reliever of the Month in May before getting a topic here. In May, he allowed 1 earned run in 11 1/3 innings for a 0.79 ERA with 11 saves and no blown saves or losses.
