Forum: Around The Minors

Who's coming up? Who's going down? What's happening with the Yankees Minor League clubs?

  1. Sticky Thread Sticky: Welcome to draft day 2012! (new draft rules added to 1st post)

Happy Draft day folks. I expect we will have a lot of discussion over the next couple days about the picks this team and others make. i am just taking the time to remind you that this year the treads will be actively moderated and all CS apply to every post. last year the warning meant that i didn't have to suspend anyone for the draft and i would like that run to continue trashing players, FO members, and excess negativity will earn you a suspension through the end of the draft. not...

  2. Another team's prospects thread

I couldn't find a thread for talking about another team's prospects. I didn't want to put this in the All purpose thread because that is for the Yankees. http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/prospects/news/262103.html I'll take this guy. Maybe we can work out a deal. :D Sometimes a change of scenary is good for a player.

  6. NY's Teenage Pitching Prospects

Since Cashman's new thing seems to be to deal 40 man roster casualties for super-young DSL pitchers (Rumbelow for Then and Cave for Gil), I thought it would be interesting to put together a list of teenage pitching prospects, roughly in order. This is obviously not definitive and I welcome any input, I am curious if Gil slots ahead of any of these guys: Luis Medina Matt Sauer Juan Then Deivi Garcia Nolan Martinez Roansy Contreras Jhonatan Munoz (mentioned in the new BA prospect book)

  11. Offseason Prospect Ranking Game: Most Tradeable Prospects

I've been thinking about this for a few days with everyone posting/discussing prospect lists. I think most of our lists will be the same, or similar enough that it's a bit redundant after a few come out. The idea that popped into my head was making a list of Yankee prospects based on your willingness to trade them. THIS IS NOT A LIST OF WHO IS UNTOUCHABLE OR NOT. This is about you trying to balance a player's value on the field to the Yankees, his trade value around the league, and your...

  12. ---BAD news!!

New York Yankees prospect Gleyber Torres has a torn ligament in his non-throwing elbow and will miss the remainder of the season. Torres will undergo Tommy John surgery on his left elbow but is expected to recover in time for spring training in 2018. The infielder was diagnosed with a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his left elbow. "It is unfortunate," Brian Cashman said. "I'm thankful that it is a correctable problem." Had he not been injured, Torres might have been called up by the...

  16. 2017 2nd Round Pick: Matt Sauer

Ranked 28th overall by both MLB.pipeline and BA. Sauer is a big HS RHP from CA who has bumped 97 MPH. Top recruit for Arizona, so he's not going to come cheap.

  20. 2017 Minor League Projected Rotations

I've been really impressed with the starting pitching depth we have built up in the minors and wanted to try to lay out where everyone will fit. Last season, each of the Yankees affiliates in AAA, AA, A+, and A led their league in team ERA last season. We've now added Sheffield, Abreu, Littel, Tarpley, Tate, Guzman, and Swanson to the mix through some trades. Even going seven SP deep at each level, there are still going to be a lot of guys not getting much deserved promotions this year....
