Hello fellow hockey fans. It's another season of hockey in both the National and American Hockey Leagues. Of course, we will also talk shop on the 2019 IIHF World Championship tournament in Slovakia. From the puck drops in both the NHL and AHL season openers to the teams raising both the Stanley and Calder Cups, you can talk hockey here.

Will anyone derail the Golden State Warriors of a three-peat? Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and the Dubs will attempt to win three consecutive NBA titles, the first since the Los Angeles Lakers did it in 2000-2002. We will also have more 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup qualifying action from June 2018 to February 2019 to determine which 32 team will compete in that tournament in China from August 31-September 15.

The season starts tomorrow. The games include #10 Michigan State vs. #1 Kansas in Indianapolis at 7:00 P.M., Florida at #17 Florida State at 9:00 P.M., and #4 Duke vs. #2 Kentucky in a doubleheader after Michigan State vs. Kansas.

Another season of college football awaits as the 2020 College Football Playoff National Championship is in the Big Easy.

There are 8 American teams and 8 teams from other countries. The Mid-Atlantic representative is from Staten Island. On Thursday they defeated a team from Iowa 5-2. They just finished a 2-1 win over a team from Texas. Next they will face the winner of a game between a team from Michigan and a team from Hawaii. If they win that game, they advance to the U.S. Championship. If they lose that game, they play the winner of the losers bracket and the winner of that goes to the U.S. Championship....

Hofstra University, where I went, is ranked Number 25 in Softball and is the top team in the northeast. The RPI is released weekly on Mondays, and last week the SEC and Pac-12 had 15 of the top 17 teams. Schools in the northeast don't do well. The top RPI in the Big East is DePaul in 75th, and the top RPI by a Big East team on the east coast is St. John's in 162nd.
