  1. Kovalev, Leetch connect on decisive goal

:D :D Can we get Zubov back, too? Didn't get to see the game, but if anyone watched it please let me know how they looked. I'm jumping on the Kovalev bandwagon. I was wrong and I hope he does better this time around. It's only two games, but I appreciate these little streaks. :) http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/recap?gameId=230214013 NEW YORK (AP) -- Alexei Kovalev and Brian Leetch haven't forgotten each other's moves.

  2. John Longden, Hall of Fame jockey, dies at 96

John Longden was the only jockey ever to win the Kentucky Derby as a jockey and a trainer. He was one of the select few ever to win the Triple Crown, aboard the great Count Fleet. 3. Various February profiles and stories -- ESPN-C

They're a bit random, but since I never post most of these anyway, I'm hoping someone can at least take advantage. Some are baseball, while others are from other sports. Hence, they're here: 2/2 -- Dave DeBuschere, Richard Petty, Jimmy Connors; 2/3 -- Bill Russell, Willie Mays, Joe Namath Show (Peggy Fleming & Paul Anka) 2/4 -- Jesse Owens 2/5 -- Jackie Robinson

  4. Kovalev a Ranger AGAIN!

I missed this guy. Welcome back to NY. I doesn't matter the Rangers will still miss the playoffs. 5. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar goes to CBS as college analyst

I loved seeing this guy play, especially that patented Sky Hook, how he and Magic had their Showtime goin' on!!! Anyway, if anyone shares my passion f/the big guy, how he's participating, I figured I'd add this. http://www2.bostonherald.com/sport/sports_columnists/baker02122003.htm Jabbar returns to college, as analyst by Jim Baker Wednesday, February 12, 2003 CBS yesterday fortified its NCAA basketball tourney team by hiring Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as an analyst and teaming him with...

  7. Sprewell for Van Horn?

All day yesterday, and continuing today, I've been hearing that a deal between the Sixers and Knicks is almost complete involving Latrell Sprewell and Kieth Van Horn. Supposedly, it was first reported on ESPN Radio, although I haven't heard it there, and haven't heard it anywhere else. I still don't believe this is true, but now I'm hearing it's being reported on ESPN Insider, which I don't have. I was just wondering if someone who does have Insider could just let me know whether this is...

  10. LeBron James on Comcast

Wow!!! Wow!!! Did anybody see this young man play in the tournament at Trenton? Unbelievable performance! Fifty-two points (a career high) five steals (back-to-back to start the second half finished off by slams) a near half court trey, and some no-look passes..... This kid is unreal. For once, the hype just might be earned.

  11. Rangers Team Bitch Nominations 2/5

Tonight's loss, proudly broadcasted on Crappyvision's MSG Netnork, was brought to you by Sandy McCarthy. With the game knotted at 3 apiece midway through the third on the Rangers on a power play McCarthy thought it would be a great idea to take a retaliatory penalty in the offensive zone. Of course, Ottawa scored on the ensuing power play and the Rangers continue to plummet out of playoff contention. Thanks, Sandy. I hope Glen Sather has two words for you tomorrow: healthy scratch. I...

  12. Early Derby favorite Vindication sidelined

This is disappointing. I thought Vindication looked great when he won the BC Juvenile, and I was looking forward to his 3-year-old campaign. I guess we'll have to wait until they run a couple more prep races to see who the new favorite will be. http://www.drf2000.com/news/article/44055.html Vindication out of Derby By STEVE ANDERSEN ARCADIA, Calif. - Vindication, the champion 2-year-old colt of 2002, will miss the Triple Crown because of a suspensory injury to his left foreleg,...

  13. ESPN Mag: 17 y.o. HS hoopster, LeBron James

December 10, 2002 NEXT: LeBron James This time, Next is robbing the cradle. There's this boy/man/narcissist out there, impersonating an NBA player, except he's 17 and still subject to a Catholic high school dress code. He lives in a two-bedroom Akron apartment, with an Ann Iverson clone, and the place is a virtual shrine to a 6'6" guard from North Carolina. "Got like 50 pictures of MJ on my wall -- that's all you need to know about me," the phenom says. "Got Iverson, McGrady, Magic...

  14. Arthur Ashe: A story of courage, grace and reputation

I was listening to the Dan Patrick Show and they said that it's the 10th anniversary of the death of Arthur Ashe. It's hard believe it's been 10 years. :( Arthur Ashe: A story of courage, grace and reputation Arthur Ashe was one of the world's greatest tennis players. In 1975, he was the first African American to win the Wimbledon tennis championship, defeating Jimmy Connors. He wasn't given any chance to win. 15. College Basketball

The 2003 conference season has begun. I'm looking forward to an exciting year from my team the Syracuse Orangemen. They have one of the top freshman in the country, Carmelo "Melo" Anthony. Best player in an orange uniform since Moten. He is the Big East leader in scoring and second in rebounding. SU is very young this year, but Boeheim usually does better coaching youngsters. The opening game of ESPN's "Big Monday" featured ND vs. Pitt. The Panthers dominated the 2nd half enroute to a blow...

  16. The Bowl Was Fixed!!!

No, I'm not a sore loser. Neither team meant much to me. Ask people who know nothing about football, and they would say Oakland looked awkward. In my honest opinion, they looked pretty damn awkward! You know how much the mob made on this upset in Vegas and what-not. Am I the only one here who thinks this? 2,000,000 rioters in oakland can't be wrong!

  20. UConn men's hoops coach Jim Calhoun diagnosed with prostate cancer

It was announced on local TV News tonight that UConn Men's Basketball coach Jim Calhoun was diagnosed with early stage prostate cancer. They said it was caught very early and is treatable. He is hoping to be back in 3-4 weeks after undergoing treatment. While I am a Duke fan and a rival of the UConn program, I had the pleasure to meet Coach Calhoun a few years back and he is a great guy. My best wishes to him on a speedy recovery! ...
