Now batting, Richard Dutrow
Trainer Richard Dutrow Jr. said he has known New York Yankees manager Joe Torre and bench coach Don Zimmer for the last four years and had been wanting to name a good horse after them for a while. Torre and Zim, who makes his stakes debut in Saturday's Whirlaway Stakes, is that horse.
"They call me every time I have one in," Dutrow said. "They love the action. They love the racing game. We've been to the stadium a...
Wow!!! Wow!!! Did anybody see this young man play in the tournament at Trenton?
Unbelievable performance! Fifty-two points (a career high) five steals (back-to-back to start the second half finished off by slams) a near half court trey, and some no-look passes.....
This kid is unreal. For once, the hype just might be earned.
Tonight's loss, proudly broadcasted on Crappyvision's MSG Netnork, was brought to you by Sandy McCarthy. With the game knotted at 3 apiece midway through the third on the Rangers on a power play McCarthy thought it would be a great idea to take a retaliatory penalty in the offensive zone. Of course, Ottawa scored on the ensuing power play and the Rangers continue to plummet out of playoff contention.
Thanks, Sandy. I hope Glen Sather has two words for you tomorrow: healthy scratch. I...
This is disappointing. I thought Vindication looked great when he won the BC Juvenile, and I was looking forward to his 3-year-old campaign. I guess we'll have to wait until they run a couple more prep races to see who the new favorite will be.

NEXT: LeBron James
This time, Next is robbing the cradle.
There's this boy/man/narcissist out there, impersonating an NBA player, except he's 17 and still subject to a Catholic high school dress code. He lives in a two-bedroom Akron apartment, with an Ann Iverson clone, and the place is a virtual shrine to a 6'6" guard from North Carolina. "Got like 50 pictures of MJ on my wall -- that's all you need to know about me," the phenom says. "Got Iverson, McGrady, Magic...
I was listening to the Dan Patrick Show and they said that it's the 10th anniversary of the death of Arthur Ashe. It's hard believe it's been 10 years. :(
Arthur Ashe: A story of courage, grace and reputation
Arthur Ashe was one of the world's greatest tennis players. In 1975, he was the first African American to win the Wimbledon tennis championship, defeating Jimmy Connors. He wasn't given any chance to win. But, while he may be remembered most for his athletic accomplishments,...
The 2003 conference season has begun. I'm looking forward to an exciting year from my team the Syracuse Orangemen. They have one of the top freshman in the country, Carmelo "Melo" Anthony. Best player in an orange uniform since Moten. He is the Big East leader in scoring and second in rebounding. SU is very young this year, but Boeheim usually does better coaching youngsters.
The opening game of ESPN's "Big Monday" featured ND vs. Pitt. The Panthers dominated the 2nd half enroute to a blow...
No, I'm not a sore loser. Neither team meant much to me. Ask people who know nothing about football, and they would say Oakland looked awkward. In my honest opinion, they looked pretty damn awkward! You know how much the mob made on this upset in Vegas and what-not.
Am I the only one here who thinks this? 2,000,000 rioters in oakland can't be wrong!

Report: Rangers fire Trottier
A radio report says New York, stumbling along with a 21-26-6-1 record, has fired its coach in the middle of his first season.
Man, if it's true they sure didn't give him much time.
Jimmy boy Dolan says the Rangers are going to win the Stanley Cup this year! He has to be the biggest moron in business.
It was announced on local TV News tonight that UConn Men's Basketball coach Jim Calhoun was diagnosed with early stage prostate cancer. They said it was caught very early and is treatable. He is hoping to be back in 3-4 weeks after undergoing treatment. While I am a Duke fan and a rival of the UConn program, I had the pleasure to meet Coach Calhoun a few years back and he is a great guy. My best wishes to him on a speedy recovery!
While I'm not usually big on all-star games, today's NHL game was really a good one. Really intense there at the end!
Makes me wish the Rangers were good.:o

Walton accused of being lookout in alleged candy theft
January 29, 2003
TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) -- Arizona is investigating an accusation that star forward Luke Walton was a lookout while other players stole money and candy from a hotel vending machine.
what a great game by my turtles.... duke can go home with their tails between their legs..... no more undefeated teams...
Sather makes his debut as coach, the Rangers battle back from a 2-0 deficit to take a 3-2 lead only to have Colorado tie it at 3.
In OT Lindros misses point blank, I still can't believe he missed it.
A minute later the Avalance score to win it in OT.
Boy do i despise Cablevision. Not only do they prevent me from getting YES, but you have to be a masochist to root for the Knicks and Rangers. The Rangers get a whiff of the playoffs, and promptly start stinking up the joint. The Knicks, who the more they win, the less they have a shot at a marquee player like LeBron James, now are acting like they are playoff bound. I give up!
