  4. AIDAN needs your PRAYERS!!!

Some of you may remember our friends baby going to Pittsburg for a liver transplant from his Mother last March. He had been doing fairly well, but not well enough to return home yet, so he and his Mom have been living at the Ronald McDonald house near the hospital so he could go in and out for whatever treatments he still needed. His Dad would work all week, and then drive down there every weekend (8hrs each way) or any time there was something going on. When his Dad was here last week he...

  5. My grandfather died tonight..

My grandfather died in my grandmother's home, which is just up the street. He had two types of cancer, lung cancer which I believe is from smoking and cancer in his stomach which is believed to have been from exposure to radiation while he was in the Army. He was pretty out of it for the past 2 weeks as he's been given all types of sedatives and medication for his bodily swelling and near-constant pain. I was one of two people in a house full of family that didn't break down crying so that I...

  6. MVP NCAA Baseball (videogame)

Well, this game has been released so maybe its time it got its own thread... Did anyone pick this game up yet? What are your opinions so far? I'm going to grab it on my way home from work tonight. College baseball will be a welcome change from MLB, I think.

  7. NOOOOOO!!! Friends to return

Ugh. I can't believe the lazyness in Hollywood. They'd rather pay $5 million per person, per episiode to have this reunion then think of something original and not forced. This show wasn't funny the first time it was on, there's no way it'll be funny now. But it'll make millions for NBC off the drones in middle America. http://www.hollywood.com/news/detail/id/3477372

  8. Do we really need a trial? [Nixmary Brown - mod]

Is there any defense for what Rodriguez did to that little girl? Is there really any defense for the mother? Yes, I am being facetious. I realize that in the name of justice, a trial must happen, and I see that the mother has already retained a lawyer who is already saying that she had no idea of the abuse going on, yada yada yada. However, the left side of my brain is just telling me that I'd like to subject the father and the mother to just ONE DAY of the pain they gave this little...

  11. I am starting to get into "The Simpsons" again

I have not watched "The Simpsons" in years. Literally about 10 years, maybe even more. But my brother, who is a pretty big fan of them, told me to watch them because they are very funny. So he recently gave me some DVDs of their older episodes - I believe season's 3 through 6 - and I find myself laughing my ass off while I watch them. I find this show way funnier than I remember it. Perhaps it's because I am older now and 'get' the humor a bit more. Anyway, this show at it's...

  13. I just won a laptop.

So a couple months ago the University Residence Halls and Apartments at UB sent an email that was a link to a survey about living on campus to all those people that live on campus. I filled it out and then totally forgot about it. So today I went to check my mail and there was a note saying I had a package. So I took it to the office to pick the package up and they give me an envelope. It turns out they were giving away one laptop computer and I won it. The office to call about picking...

  14. Jersey Guido's Gone Wild

The newest internet craze is this thread on Sherdog.net. Some Jersey guido - you know the type, and if you don't you soon will - posted his picture on this forum and wow did it take off. The thread is up to 199 pages. http://www.sherdog.net/forums/showthread.php?t=322041&page=1&pp=20p For the abridged version (and more hilarity) check out http://www.leehotti.com/index.htm This is some of the funniest stuff I've seen in a while. I always laugh at these kinds of kids when I see them...

  15. The Jersey Boys

My wife, Nancy, and I just got back from NYC, where our kids treated us to a weekend there for our christmas present. We stayed at the Times Square Marriott Marquis and saw the Broadway show "The Jersey Boys"> It was about the life and times of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. It was a tremendous show and if anyone is thinking of seeing it, You have our recommendations. Andy

  17. Dennis Miller - All In (Too Political For His Own Good?)

Anyone catch his HBO special last night? It was strange, to say the least. I know he's made something of a name for himself the last few years becoming a "rightwing" comedian, but the entire last half of the hour was awful. The only slack I'll cut him is that some of his lines were at least funny, and he doesn't seem to take himself nearly as seriously as other comics-turned-political nutjobs like Margaret Cho or Jeanine Garafalo. He also attempted to weld his beliefs into actual material...

  18. My cousin was robbed

My cousin is in Rio working on floats for Carnival. She's getting 3 art credits for her college too. There's a group of 20 of them down there. I just got an email from my mom telling me how she was robbed on the beach. They took her cash, credit/debit cards, passport, and traveller checks. Now she's stuck down there with no money or ID. The embassy is in Brasillia, not Rio. What is she gonna do? Does my uncle have to go down and get her? I feel so bad.

ok. i have an xbox... just the regular old xbox. and im pissed that there is no 2006 mvp baseball game. i had 2005 for ps2, but sold all my ps2 stuff. i've heard about xbox live and updating rosters for mvp 2005. how does that work? is xbox live a separate console from xbox, or is it a connection i can get for my current xbox, or is it already on there and i dont even know about it? does the xbox have to be connected to a high speed hookup or something? is it worth it? are the...
