ok. i have an xbox... just the regular old xbox. and im pissed that there is no 2006 mvp baseball game. i had 2005 for ps2, but sold all my ps2 stuff. i've heard about xbox live and updating rosters for mvp 2005. how does that work? is xbox live a separate console from xbox, or is it a connection i can get for my current xbox, or is it already on there and i dont even know about it? does the xbox have to be connected to a high speed hookup or something? is it worth it? are the...

  3. Unused Championship Merchandise, Where Does It Go?

NPR details the final resting place of all of those unused championship hats and Ts on a sport by sport basis. http://www.slate.com/id/2133753/ I really didn't know that NPR had anyone on their staff that followed sports.

  4. Interview Advice - Please help

I have an interview tomorrow for a job that I am not too thrilled about, but if offered I would take it because I really need to work. I just know that I am going to be asked the "Why do you want to work here?" question and after I give the standard "I am interested in the company, it will be good experience," blah, blah should I tell them that a key reason why I want a job is so that I can buy a bigger place so that my girlfriend and I can finally move in together and live a more normal...

  5. World Beard Championship Photos

http://www.worldbeardchampionships.com/ http://www.worldbeardchampionships.com/Gallery/gallery.html My favorite so far Fritz Schadel who took second place in "Freestyle Goatee". IMO, he dominates the champion, Gary Johnson (who, frankly, may have benifitted from being the token American in the competition). The drawings of the catagory definitions are disturbing. http://www.worldbeardchampionships.com/Categories/categories.htm

http://www.csmonitor.com/2006/0119/p16s01-lihc.html This is the line that scares me: Now ladies is this in any way, shape or form true. Because I am envisioning a secret signal being sent out (potentially on Oprah) prompting women across the world to take over mensrooms.

  9. Anyone have/know about goldfish?

My 12 yr old (the one who had all the foot surgery done) had a betta fish for about 10 months but it died in November, so for Christmas my daughter bought him 2 new goldfish...(of course Mom had to buy the new tank etc). Well they seemed fine for awhile, but then one started kindof half swimming, half floating on an angle. I tried to do some research online, and found that it's a fairly common condition for goldfish called swimbladder or something, and I tried all the remedies I could find...

  15. Anyone else here a Harry Potter fan?

Maybe it is just that in the winter my brain needs something besides the Yankees to latch onto, but each winter for he past 4 years or so I have gotten more and more obsessed with the Harry Potter books and movies. So much so that I've started writing analytical essays about them. (I know, I know, what a Ravenclaw thing to do...) Here's why I was every English teacher's dream: Death and Afterward in Harrry Potter (in other words, why i think we'll see Dumbledore and Sirius in Book...

  17. Each year I find myself caring less and less about the Hot Stove Season

I used to care so much about what happened during the Hot Stove season. I would think to myself "Who are the Yankees going to get?" "Are the Red Sox going to improve?" "Where are the big free agents going to sign?" And on and on. But as time passes I almost don't really care that much. I now kind of have the attitude "Just tell me when it's April." Yes, I will follow what happens in the offseason, but I no longer obsess over it. I spend more time doing things I don't do that much...

  20. Dogs Can Detect Cancer..

Anyone see 60 Minutes last night. Researchers in England believe that with their sense of smell, dogs can detect cancers. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2005/06/23/60minutes/main703845.shtml It was really fascinating. Man's (and woman's) best friend may save lives.
