  1. Westworld HBO series

I figure there's enough of us watching and talking about it for it's own thread. I really enjoy it so far but the biggest complaint is how noncommital they are with the rules of the park. Luckily the internet exists. http://www.slashfilm.com/westworld-logistical-questions-answered/ Then there's 8 Westworld theories from the first two episodes: http://www.slashfilm.com/westworld-theories/

No, seriously. Today is Soriambi's actual birthday. This one isn't a joke. Really. Happy birthday, Kevin!

  5. Official Vacuum Cleaner Thread

Yeah, I know, but it's the off-season. Which model do you have and love? I'm looking at Sharks. I'd like a Dyson, but they're out of my price range. I don't want to spend more than $200.

  6. Have you ever had a bad breakup from a long term relationship?

I've told my close friends and I don't wanna go sharing on facebook, so I figure I'd tell you folks since I feel closer to you than a lot of other people (even those of you I hate  ). Last Sunday night I caught my girlfriend of 4 years cheating on me. I was actually gonna propose to her this Christmas. It's been 4 days since I've left her and it's not getting any better for me. I feel completely ruined and lost. All I can think about is how perfect our relationship was our first two...

  7. Where were you on November 22, 1963?

Not an entirely fair question for most of you who weren't around then. On that Friday my wife, Nancy, and I had been married for four months. We both had agreed not to have a TV so that we can better get to know each other more. We were living in a small three room apartment in Somerville, NJ. We were both working at Johns Manville Research Center in Finderne. That lunchtime we went home together for lunch . When we returned from lunch at around 1:30 PM we saw a group of our colleagues...

For all those crazy people I heard complaining about the warm weather in December, you got your cold weather in the Northeast now...so put a sock in it. :D

  10. Hoboken Train Crash

Has anyone been watching this train accident? :( A friend of mine from work was on the train and is on the way to the hospital with thankfully mostly cuts/bruises, bloody nose, etc. but the pictures are insane. They said the train never slowed down at all and the station itself was what stopped the train. :( The canapies and supporting beams have come down. It's a popular hub that links NJ Transit, PATH and the light rail for those not in the area. 3 people confirmed dead. I wonder...

  11. Sam18 needs 2 minutes of your time [serious]

Hello everyone, I work for a company making greeting cards and we need some data on people's greeting card purchasing habits, so we made a simple survey to gather that data. If you would be so kind to fill it out I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you. https://goo.gl/forms/fVGP3QTgg1uGZT1K2

  13. Arnold Palmer passes

Arnie died yesterday in a Pittsburgh hospital awaiting heart surgery. He was a (seemingly) robust man at 87. The golf (and the whole) world will miss this charismatic man. I remember in the 60's when the world was entranced and entertained by Arnie, Gary Player, Jack Nicklas and Chi Chi Rodriguiz. Man they were competitive and entertaining. Arnie led a great life. I think I'll have an "Arnold Palmer" drink in celebration of him. In the early days of his career he was terrified of...

  14. Official Mr Robot thread (spoilers)

I think it's time we had a dedicated thread. Last night was pretty intense. I loved the entire adderall scene. He did a hell of a job acting like a nutjob. lol I've been watching with the "theory" in the back of my head about the true nature of the show right now. People have said they don't wanna hear it or wish they haven't heard it so I'll keep that quiet. But I'm going back and forth with it. Last episode didn't give it as much credibility as the first. I like the backstory they...

  15. 9/11: 15 Years Later

I can't believe it's been 15 years. I think my youthful innocence was lost that day. So many of you were so much closer to it than I was.

  17. Hurricane Hermine

Hello people I am a Meteorologist and figured to let you know Hermine will be bad if you live along the NJ shore and lower boroughs of NYC. Latest models point to 70 mph winds, 3 inches of rain, and 4-5 foot storm surge. Not to the level of Sandy but it's close due to the strange track Hermine will take. It will look like she's going out to sea but there is a block in her way that will force her to retrograde back west. Timing is Sunday into Monday. Saturday afternoon rain could...

  19. Better Call Saul discussion thread [with spoilers once episodes premier]

I have a feeling that this show may be a gem. Being in the BB universe, we already know Mike Ermentrout will be a regular. Walt and Jessie by season two I hear. I expect Gus as well. And just having VG at the helm gives me hope it will be written just as well. I wanted to be able to discuss without worrying about spoilers. I figure enough of us will be watching. Who's pumped?

  20. Big week for me. (And that is the understatement of the decade)

Next Wednesday I will undergo six hours of tests and interviews to determine my viability to be placed on the kidney transplant list. To say this is one of the most important days of my life is an understatement. Not getting on it means I continue on dialysis as long as it works and then that is it as they say. My doctor believes that I will get on as all my numbers are where they should be (for someone with kidney failure). Today I found out two of the pre-tests were waived! Either way I won't...
