74 degrees here in the Albany area on February 24. Honey bees are out and about. Nice for walking outdoors, but not good for the maple syrup producers, or the skiers and snowmobiles. Hope the cold air gets back before the fruit trees think about blossoming early.
Anyone getting married today? Or heading to Vegas or a casino?
Today may be your "lucky" day! :
"It's been hailed as the luckiest day of the century, a time to take chances on love and lottery tickets and all things uncertain.
That day is Saturday -- July 7, 2007, a.k.a. 7/7/07 or 777.
Has anyone here done this or the similar 23 and Me? Any surprises? I just got my kit in the mail and will be mailing it back tomorrow.
So I got the MLB package online this year because you can't do Extra Innings month to month and I am moving in July. I got the high end plan which is supposed to have DVR-like features but every time I go to use it, it doesn't work. Does anyone else have this?
That said, the picture is great.
Dead at the age of 90.
Yes or no? Remember, it's served between pieces of bread.
Next up - Roland's original Ka-tet (with a short description for each):
Cuthbert is Roland Deschain's childhood best friend.
Cuthbert is characterized by his outwardly flippant, care-free view of the world. He constantly makes jokes, often testing the nerves of his companions. He is notably skilled with a sling-shot.
Alain is described as being stout with blond hair. He is calm, reserved and often plays the role of level-headed mediator between ever...
Next Wednesday I will undergo six hours of tests and interviews to determine my viability to be placed on the kidney transplant list. To say this is one of the most important days of my life is an understatement. Not getting on it means I continue on dialysis as long as it works and then that is it as they say. My doctor believes that I will get on as all my numbers are where they should be (for someone with kidney failure). Today I found out two of the pre-tests were waived! Either way I won't...
Yeah, I know, but it's the off-season.
Which model do you have and love? I'm looking at Sharks. I'd like a Dyson, but they're out of my price range. I don't want to spend more than $200.
What is amazing about this clip -- that we have all seen --is how happy the Giant fans are.
Can sports still make us this happy?
Just because we're posting spoilers and details in the tv show thread.
Anyone picked up any good new music lately?
Went on a bit of a tear lately on allofmp3.com and snagged the following:
- Arctic Monkeys- these guys are gonna be hot sh1t this summer, I can already tell after a few listens through the album. they're just regular dudes singing about regular things rather than the whiny woe-is-our-world stuff you're hearing from a lot of their counterparts these days
- DJ Muggs vs GZA "Grandmaster"- the Cypress Hill DJ paired with GZA from the Wu,...

The pancreas can be triggered to regenerate itself through a type of fasting diet, say US researchers.
Restoring the function of the organ - which helps control blood sugar levels - reversed symptoms of diabetes in animal experiments.
The study, published in the journal Cell, says the diet reboots the body.
Experts said the findings were "potentially very exciting" as they could become a new treatment...
Has anyone purchased a tac light flashlight? I was considering getting one for me and one for each of my kids. The one on tv is made by Bell & Howell but it's like $20 on Amazon and I feel like this is one of those "you get what you pay for" items. $20 is extremely good for something that is supposedly indestructible, waterproof, and as bright as it's supposed to be. But I read up on some others which go for around $50 to $80 and I see the same negative reviews I worry about with the B&H...
We need to discuss this. Science books had to all be rewritten, now again?
Trivia? How many planets are in the solar system? How will this be answered? You'll need to find out when the question was asked.
Alan Stern is right, this is bull***.
Although, I'm not certain what letters the 3 asterisks are covering up.

Let's see now;
FIRST we had Kellyanne Conway lamenting the Bowling Green Massacre that never happened. She claimed she misspoke. 3 times?
Second we had old Spicey wring his hands over the tragic terrorist attack in Atlanta. Atlants? OOPS! He meant the shooting at the nightclub in Orlando. Geesh! Those pesky details. What? You want him to remember every detail about everything?
Third we have President Donald Trump going all Dog Day Afternoon on the fiendish terrorists who attacked...
We are coming up on the Oscars. I saw Lion yesterday and that got me thinking about Best Picture winners. I find myself disagreeing with the Best Picture choice more often than not but I do always try to see the movie that won. Thought it might be interesting to hear people's favorite (or least favorite).
