Discuss the Yankees in here (Formerly Inside the Lines II)

  1. Sticky Thread Sticky: ATTENTION EVERYONE New Community Standards

Big news - our revised Community Standards are finally online. Please access them on the footer of the page, towards the right-hand edge..... The main point of differentiation between NYYFans and most other sports forums is the sense of community that has been fostered here, since our site was founded many years ago. In order to maintain this atmosphere, we must hold posters to certain basic expectations when participating here..... To this end, we will be conducting a soft relaunch of...

  2. Exclamation Sticky Thread Sticky: *IMPORTANT* New URL for the NYYFans Forum

All, in their continuing effort to provide high quality Yankees content, SNY has decided to split the NYYFans.com site from the forum. Effective immediately, the NYYFans forum is using a new URL: www.nyyfansforum.com - you will need to log in with your user credentials. Please update your bookmarks now. The old URL, forums.nyyfans.com will redirect to the new domain name for a temporary period of time while everyone makes the transition. Please let me know if you have any questions or...

  3. Sticky Thread Sticky: Please Use Descriptive Thread Titles

Please show some courtesy to your fellow fans and use descriptive thread titles in this sub-forum and in all other areas of this forum so everyone knows exactly what's being discussed in a particular thread. A thread titled "Joe Torre" for example could be about anything - please specify exactly what you want to discuss in the thread you're starting such as "Will Joe Torre Ever Come Back to the Yankees?". Not everyone has a lot of time on the forum to go in and out of every single thread so...

  1. Yankees re-sign CC

Mark Feinsand‏ @Feinsand 43s43 seconds ago BREAKING: According to a source, the Yankees have agreed to a one-year deal with CC Sabathia worth $10 million. The deal is pending a physical. EDIT: Can a mod please edit the title to "Re-sign"? That's literally one of my biggest pet peeves on sports message boards, and I went and did it myself.

The summer made glorious by the sons of (New) York comes to an end. So now begins the winter of our discontent. What should we do? Sign JD Martinez Buy out Tanaka's opt out Sign Otani Replace Romine call it a day.

  3. The hunt for a better BUC

Iannetta gone, Castillo gone (but was likely always destined for a starting gig anyway) ... who to target? Is Avila the consensus? Other free agent or maybe a trade target? Keep Romine? Anyone still want to beat the drum for Higashioka? BUC the system here.

  4. Betances

What is his future here? Seems they lost confidence in him toward the end of the year, hasn't fulfilled. He could be part of a trade for an SP. Green and/or Kahnle could take hie role.

  5. The Hunt for Danny Duffy

Jon Heyman‏ @JonHeyman Danny Duffy extremely popular on trade market. KC seriously thinking about trading. == As I said elsewhere .... I'll take Duffy over Cole or Fulmer, and IMO its not even a close call. Duffy is a legit #1 in my view, a dominator when he's at his best, and ace lefties are always preferable for the Yankees. If we're gonna deal the kind of top level prospects that Pittsburgh and Detroit are reportedly asking for, I wouldn't do it for Cole or Fulmer, but I'll do it for...

  8. NL pitchers moving to AL

How many pitchers have, in the middle of their careers, moved from the NL to the AL for the first time and then maintained the same level of production? I'd rather the Yanks not give up elite prospects for NL pitchers

  9. The Hunt for the final missing piece: one more dominant SP

1.To contend with the 'Super teams' that have 2 dominant SPs like Houston, Cubs,LA etc. 2.I don't believe Gray is a truly dominant pitcher. Stuff is strong but has a tendency to nibble. Mental make up to me makes him a pretty good but not shutdown guy like the Verlanders and Kuechels 3.Tanaka can be but has been a bit up and down and is an injury risk as he ages 4. CC while a true warrior is well past prime and likely at best gives us about 5 now with a couple runs given up. 5. We...

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/dc-sports-bog/post/bryce-harper-potentially-worth-400-million-says-someone/2012/05/09/gIQAxNLaDU_blog.html His favorite teams are the Cowboys, Yankees, Lakers, and Duke LMAO. Will the Yankees shell out the $400 million or whatever to get him in the Bronx?

  13. The Hunt for Manny Machado

I mean, you saw this thread coming right? Olney is reporting Yankees are interested in Machado. With our deep farm the O's may not find a better deal elsewhere. Maybe the Yanks get a negotiating window to sign him long term. He's just 25 years old and is arguably a top 5 3B in the league. To be clear, I rather wait until he hits FA to save the prospects but hot stove is heating up on this rumor. Prospect package would undoubtedly include Andujar and much more.

  15. Balance of Terror

If you look a couple of years out, beyond Gardner, Ellsbury and Headley, the lefty power is Bird and Gregorius. The obvious move is to bring in Harper but who knows how that will go down, especially with a boatload assigned to Stanton every year all the way to age 37. Does anyone think that the team is too power heavy from the right side, and if so what's the future fix?

I am sorry to see that coach Pena has not been rehired. I think the games new approach has over looked his input. He is a quality man and has done a great job in the coaching field. I will miss his enthusiasm and the way his players inter act with him. best of luck to the little guy, Doc.

  19. The Hunt For Shohei Ohtani

It's on. He's being posted this offseason. The quickest way to go from a middle of the pack team to a contender would be by signing an ace-caliber pitcher for under $3M. Almost unfair to the teams that miss out on him.
