  1. Sticky Thread Sticky: ATTENTION EVERYONE New Community Standards

Big news - our revised Community Standards are finally online. Please access them on the footer of the page, towards the right-hand edge..... The main point of differentiation between NYYFans and most other sports forums is the sense of community that has been fostered here, since our site was founded many years ago. In order to maintain this atmosphere, we must hold posters to certain basic expectations when participating here..... To this end, we will be conducting a soft relaunch of...

  3. Sticky Thread Sticky: Please Use Descriptive Thread Titles

Please show some courtesy to your fellow fans and use descriptive thread titles in this sub-forum and in all other areas of this forum so everyone knows exactly what's being discussed in a particular thread. A thread titled "Joe Torre" for example could be about anything - please specify exactly what you want to discuss in the thread you're starting such as "Will Joe Torre Ever Come Back to the Yankees?". Not everyone has a lot of time on the forum to go in and out of every single thread so...

  1. The Domingo German Problem (what to do?)

There's no ignoring it, we are a better team with a better Pen if Domingo German is on it and in it. If you deny that, you are just denying reality. The guy can flat-out deal and would be tremendously helpful as a long man out of the Pen for the Yankees. The problem, of course, is that NOBODY else stepped up as an option to be stretched out at AAA lest the need for another SP arises. German is clearly the best option for that role as well. So what do we do? Do we keep a guy who can...

  3. Unless his fielding stinks , Andujar is making this roster

This is the Judge /Hicks scenario last year. Judge showed his hitting was special and Cashman recognized it. Andujar albeit in a small sample size was like 4 for 7 in the Majors last year and the ball screams off his bat. This kid is the real deal. Andujar is coming up with the team and Drury possibly rotate between 2nd and 3rd and/or be a late inning utility replacement .

  5. Discussion about Gary Sanchez and his position

So as we all know, catcher is a very demanding position both physically and mentally. His bat will almost surely play better long term with a position change However, him being a catcher helps our team and lineup immensely cause you rarely get that type of production from your catcher. And then you can have a DH and 1b on top of that to bolster your lineup. Inversely, it saves you from having to deal with a .220 hitting catcher in your lineup all season So my question is... what do you...

  6. Playing With The 2018 Lineup

    Here's what I'd like to see: Gardner - LF/CF/DH Hicks - CF/LF Judge/Stanton - RF/LF/DH Bird - 1B Stanton/Judge - RF/LF/DH Gregorius - SS Sanchez - C Wade/Torreyes/Torres (in May) - 2B

The summer made glorious by the sons of (New) York comes to an end. So now begins the winter of our discontent. What should we do? Sign JD Martinez Buy out Tanaka's opt out Sign Otani Replace Romine call it a day.

  8. The Hunt For Shohei Ohtani

It's on. He's being posted this offseason. The quickest way to go from a middle of the pack team to a contender would be by signing an ace-caliber pitcher for under $3M. Almost unfair to the teams that miss out on him.

  10. Who Do We Trust for Starting Pitchers #6 & #7?

This is what I worry about the most. Severino, Tanaka, & Gray can be stoppers on any given day. Each one can also get lit up on any given day. Especially against the formidable lineups they'll probably be facing in the post season. I'd love it if they were limited to about 160 IP during the regular season, so they'll each be pretty strong in October. At about 6IP per start, that's about 27 starts each, or half the season (81 starts). That means the back half of the rotation needs to...

  11. MLB Pace Of Play Rule Changes - Good Or Bad?

Although I think the whole pace of play issue is a bit overblown, I read through what was announced today and don't have a major issue. Glad they didn't include the pitch clock, which I hate, and think the mound visit issue is fairly defined. Interested to see viewpoints on this... https://www.mlb.com/news/mlb-announces-pace-of-play-initiatives/c-266718664
