  1. Sticky Thread Sticky: ATTENTION EVERYONE New Community Standards

Big news - our revised Community Standards are finally online. Please access them on the footer of the page, towards the right-hand edge..... The main point of differentiation between NYYFans and most other sports forums is the sense of community that has been fostered here, since our site was founded many years ago. In order to maintain this atmosphere, we must hold posters to certain basic expectations when participating here..... To this end, we will be conducting a soft relaunch of...

Effective immediately, the NYYFans forum is using a new URL: www.nyyfansforum.com - you will need to log in with your user credentials. Please update your bookmarks now. The old URL, forums.nyyfans.com will redirect to the new domain name for a temporary period of time while everyone makes the transition. Please let me know if you have any questions or...

  3. Sticky Thread Sticky: Please Use Descriptive Thread Titles

Please show some courtesy to your fellow fans and use descriptive thread titles in this sub-forum and in all other areas of this forum so everyone knows exactly what's being discussed in a particular thread. A thread titled "Joe Torre" for example could be about anything - please specify exactly what you want to discuss in the thread you're starting such as "Will Joe Torre Ever Come Back to the Yankees?". Not everyone has a lot of time on the forum to go in and out of every single thread so...

  1. Next order of business: We need a high contact/ low K hitter

No problem trading Andujar as I really believe we need a high contact/low K hitter to better balance out this line up. I think part of the reason we get shut down in the post season besides pitching being dominant is we have a lot of really good power but guys who swing and miss a lot. When pitching is elite those guys tend to strike out a bunch. Its why the old dynasty Yanks were so tough , not a ton of power but guys who could consistently get the bat on the ball. Give me another guy closer...

  3. Sign Gerrit Cole Thread

The Yankees must do everything in their power to sign this man. Not having a true ace in 2017 and this year has cost the Yankees a championship.

  4. Do we have another developing Ace in the Hole?

We saw in the 1st half of '18 we know Sevy can be one if he can stay healthy and puts it all together. Paxton started to pitch like one after acclimating to NY in the 2nd half last year. Tanaka is a gamer who raises his level when needed in the postseason (but has a lot of mileage). German can be filthy but is still an unknown in terms of becoming more of a pitcher than a thrower. Is there someone or multiple guys that project to have potential ace stuff? Montgomery is more a 2/3 high end...

  5. The Yankees Sign Gerrit Cole

According to AOL Sports: https://www.aol.com/article/news/2019/12/11/gerrit-cole-signs-with-yankees-for-record-dollar324-million/23878600/ Gerrit Cole has signed with the Yankees. Now, I know this is not breaking news any longer and it's just a bit of fun utilizing the AOL Sports site as the means to break this news... It would seem that the "Sign Gerrit Cole" thread is so, so... so 18 hours ago. It was a thread imploring the Yankees to sign the pitcher.
