Pete was also an owner here in the Game Day Ritual League.
Do we have a way of assigning his team to another owner?
Virtual Series Tracker - can someone explain how the points are divied out? I understand the concept (giving us a 162 game schedule) but what do the numbers actually mean?
Also, in the game I'm playing, Tony Sipp, a RP, has 26pts for the week. From what I can tell, he's had 2 1IP appearances, and received a hold for each appearance. Is a hold really worth 13pts?!?!
Meanwhile, Huston Street, has 2 saves and 3Ks - yet has 27pts.
Out of curiosity (since it doesn't matter for bids anymore...) what is your GM Rating?
Interesting...if the score falls into the "tie" range, the home team gets the extra win (a 4-3 week).
The Farging Iceholes have traded Chad Billingsley to the Ubaldo Beavers in exchange for lefty Jon Lester.
The Iceholes now have a devastating 1-2 punch of Tim Lincecum & Lester. The Beavers, who were desperate to shed some payroll, have picked up a nice young pitcher in Billingsley in return.
A reminder that you need to select your lineups and rotations for the upcoming games now that the FAB is complete. Some points to remember:
- Set your starting team. You can specify backups at all positions, who will step in if your primaries get injured mid-week. Hitters can back up multiple positions at once, although they can't actually replace both primaries if they happen to go down in the same week. Spot start and 'FR' are the backup starter and reliever categories.
- Set your...
Should be an interesting first week as we see how well everyone has built their teams.
Not everybody is filling out a complete roster right now so that could affect W/L this week with some weaker teams getting wins just because their opponent is incomplete.
So I noticed that even though my GM rating is an "A", I cannot get any insider information about other teams bidding on players now that the FAB is over.
So I emailed GDR:
I won't be able to check GDR from work today, but I can look here. Figured someone could update as the signings take place.
Thought it might be good to have a new thread for this. 4 days until the Free Agency period starts; some notes for the newcomers:
Make sure you add players to your Team Planner, and adjust the opening bid to be reasonable. Albert Pujols may say he'll sign for $5m or up, but if someone else opens bidding at $16m, your $6m opening bid will be automatically entered, meaning that a) you'll lose the chance to bid for Pujols again, and b) your GM rating will decline for making a poor bid. You...
We've got 9 owners so far. If you're on the list below, can you please PM me your e-mail address so I can invite you?
Last year's league:
New York Knights - RETURNING (Commissioner)
Pinch Hitters - RETURNING
Ponzi Schemers - RETURNING
Ruthianblast - RETURNING
Last year was tough for me; this year is shaping up for more of the same.
Commitments have been piling back up lately and I will not have time to run this league again.
I would like to turn the reigns over to someone, if there are any takers.
(For the record, I was given the Commissioner title one year the day before the season started, so this is a little more notice. :))
Should we get the ball rolling?
Nice job rookie. Thought we were headed for a photo finish between you and Sycamore Style, but you managed to separate yourself over the past couple weeks.
Now for the fun part - keepers!
Bragging for bragging's sake.
Love the prediction that my pitching would be terrible, Rob!
I mistakenly clicked Aaron Hill when picking in the draft, and much to my chagrin ended up getting him at $1. I was annoyed.
I'm in the trading mood.
Lance Berkman and Grady Sizemore are on the table.
Let me know if you've got interest...
The Romanian Yankees made a final push in the hope of winning this year's league, by trading their best minors prospect, SS Gordon Beckham, to Ruthianblast, in exchange for two star players in their final contract year, RP Francisco Rodriguez and 2B Brandon Phillips.
Webb to the DL, please.:(
