• Reflecting on the Yankees 2012 Interleague season

With the conclusion of last nights game at Citi Field, the Yankees officially completed their slate of interleague contests for this season. Interleague play has traditionally been very, very, good to the Yankees, but this year they suffered from a tough draw. In addition to playing the Mets twice, as usual, the Yankees also drew the Reds and Braves at home, and the Braves and Nationals on the road. That meant the Yankees wound up playing the top team in the N.L. Central (at the moment), as well as the top three teams in the N.L. East. All four teams are above .500 as of this writing, and playing in Washington meant that the Yankees had to face the best starting rotation in baseball without the benefit of the DH.
