The Devils need this one. If the Avs take this game the series is over. Roy has only given up three goals in three games and NJ needs to solve him tonight if they are going to stay in it.
GO AVS!!!

My friend (A Devils fan) has been tailgating down there all day today and he gets to see the game today... too bad he's gonna see the Devils lose, though... :)

early in the 2nd -- Devils looking much better now, Jim. Larry musta kicked some ass in the locker room. They just gotta stop taking stupid penalties.

1-1 Now, yeah, they do look better now.

But I'm astounded by the Avs Defense.

Yeah, but it should be 2-2.

Wow. I can't believe the Avs came out of that period with the lead. For a 10 or 12 minute stretch there it seemed like the Devils were going to score about 5 goals. Patrick Roy is showing once again why some consider him the greatest ever. (Think he's thanking the hockey gods right now that the posts aren't a quarter inch thinner?)

What's really amazing is that through the first two periods Sakic and Drury are the only Avs fowards to get a shot on net.

Stanley Cup hockey is always amazing. What a great game.
If the Devils go on to win this series, Roy will be haunted by that second goal for a long time. How could the Avs defense let Gomez get that position, anyway?
I thought the hit on Hejduk by Holik might have been helmet to helmet, it was hard to tell. I was hoping the "30 camera" thing might show a better view of it.
If the Avs want to win this series, they are going to have to do better than tonights 12 shots on goal and get more than three fowards to shoot (Dave Reid had a shot in the third).
When Gary Thorne said "it's Roy against the Devils" he wasn't kidding. Roy faced three times as many shots from the swarming Devils than his team got against Brodeur. Too bad for the Avs, as Brodeur was clearly not at the top of his game tonight.
Did the second half of the game belong to Scott Gomez or what? He was in the middle of everything.
And finally, I hope Arnott and Hejduk are ok for Monday night. No one wants to not be able to contribute at this time of the year.
