For me, the Team Hero is Girardi for realizing that the game was on the line in the 3rd, and he brought in D-Rob in that high leverage situation.

TH: Joe, Robertson
HM: Cano

HM: A-Rod. Not so much for the home run ... but the base hit he got after Teixeira failed that made it 5-3, is kind of a forgotten hit now but it was HUGE at the time.

if I had to pick one, D-Rob shutting it down was key to keeping us in the game but really we played like a team:

TH: Bullpen
HM: Offense

TH: D-Rob
HM: The rest of the bullpen, the offense. Talk about stepping it up when it's needed.

Probably the first time I am going to write this in 2010: The bullpen.

Agreed. Well done, Joe G. And Robertson is showing that swagger he had at the end of season and in the postseason last year and thank goodness Jeter is showing signs of coming out of his slump. YES!

David Robertson put the team in a position to come back yesterday. It's encouraging to see him put together consecutive impressive outings after the All-Star break. Conversely, Joba Chamberlain had another disappointing performance. The final line wasn't flat out terrible - 1 run over 1 2/3 innings, but he was hit hard - even the outs were loud. With the non-waiver trading deadline approaching and Andy Pettitte headed to the DL I wouldn't be surprised if Brian Cashman now finds himself in a position where he'll have to give up more / better prospects in order to acquire bullpen help. Just pure speculation based on nothing but a hunch - I think he's gonna try to land Octavio Dotel. No guarantees, obviously, but he'd be high on most GM's lists of relievers allegedly available.
