The Yankees plan to scout starter Victor Zambrano. He'll be 33 soon, and has a 9.45 ERA in 40 Triple A innings.

The 9.45 ERA is a bit scary, I'd have to say.

The Yankees scout lots of people. It's a non-issue.

That's worked before!

Where's Jim Duquette when you need him?

They should definitely get Zambrano, but only if they hire Rick Peterson first. Peterson can fix Zambrano in ten minutes.

I hope you're right. Watching Zambrano pitch would be absolute torture.

I can't believe the Mets had Victor Zambrano and Steve Traschel at the same time. Talk about eye-bleeding.... no wonder they're so delusional; watching that pair could make anyone crazy .

I agree -- Victor Zambrano stinks, is he really the best available option?

I think the Yankees are reporting this so we won't be so upset about His Portliness, Sir Sidney, starting tomorrow night.

This is what's wrong with this team. Instead of getting serious about a creative impact move, we keep hanging around other teams' trash and picking away at it when the lights go off.

Why would Cashman be even remotely interested?

They are, along with several other teams, including Boston.

Free agent RHP Victor Zambrano (http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/profile?statsId=6752) continues working out at the Yankees' complex and had his second bullpen session.

Michael Kay just said that Victor Zambrano may be the fall back option for Saturday if Pavano can't go.....we're screwed.

He pitched five innings for Trenton on Monday, and looked okay, after totaling 8 innings over two starts in the Gulf Coast League. I don't see him lasting more than two or three innings if he goes on Saturday. Pavano? Why not just put him in a casket and lower it into the ground now so we can save some time. Hughes? Clearly not ready for prime time. We're screwed no matter what the options are.
